Obviously you built a Whammy amp, I have one somewhere and use it if I want to hear solid state. A fine little amp.
The Whammy is Wayne Colburns design over at PassLabs.
Good Class A amp for sure. Tons of Op Amp choices to play with.
They also have a DIY ACP + headamp and preamp.
Totally DIY over at the diyaudio store...another simple elegant design IMO.

Even though I love trying out amps of all kinds...the Schiit Vahalla 2 and Bifrost 2 have a special place here....
Most of this stuff is sold and have new happy owners....
Except for the Schiit stuff !!

The only way to tell if one amp is better, worse or just different is to have them in house and try them with my ears.
As Jason often states there is a lot of good stuff out there.

Looking forward to the URD here...playing with NOS dacs this will be a nice piece of gear to try...

:>)
The real value of Urd is the Unison USB output to perfectly match to a Schiit Unison DAC input. There is no NOS option among the Schiit DAC versions

I even used discrete Op Amps in mine. It is one of the few solid state devices I might listen to other than AV or portable devices.

Coming from you - that is a high praise for a solid state amp!!
@bcowen - I hope you have not read that post, as your eyes might burn in their sockets...

I did find a little solid state amp in my shop I can test the tiny radial speakers with, I will hook it up one day soon but first I need to get back to working with copper plate for @bcowen's upgrade, otherwise the man will become more of a pest. :beerchug:

Copper sulfate repels most insects.
