Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Let's not upset our Jersey friends. They have some great peaches too.
"Consumers seek out New Jersey peaches, which are generally considered to be some of the best in the country. “All our peaches are picked by hand at the height of their sugar content."
I like to BBQ peaches.
Hmmmmm. I am not (currently) a peach connoisseur. Do you use a tomato-based sauce, or vinegar?

I’m no wordsmith. But I jotted down some notes on the new Try amps.
First change was to turn down the sub.
Depth and clarity.
Micro details
Drums and percussion are amazing.
Several times I’ve walked away and came back meaning to research something or another. Half an hour later I’ve forgotten what I was going to do. Too busy listening.
Vidars ran at 109, Trys maxed at 101 with a higher ambient room temp. Power output seems very similar based on the Freya volume dial.

Mike and Jason are gods.

I like your honest, straight to the point and practical review.

However Im still on the fence on getting the Tyr.
I’ve had a lot of Schiit already and of cource they are all good but I’m thinking of venturing out on other brands for my next amp. Still thinking…

Ok each of you should send me peaches and I will compare them to the pitiful attempt that Cowen delivers and tell you who wins. 😜😜😜😜
Your results will only be valid if you do a blind tasting. Perhaps we need the assistance of Mrs. Paladin.

I have been running the Tyrs for a couple days now and thought I should drop a comment out here. General observations are as follows: They run much cooler than my Vidar. They have not gone over 92 degrees according to the temp gun, regardless how long they have been on. They have primarily been attached to my Salk Veracity monitors. The Salks use a Seas excel 16 cm driver and a RAAL tweeter and have always been exceptional at retrieving detail. However, they are rather low sensitivity. The Tyrs have actually caused the Salks to achieve a speed and bring out micro-detail which my prior amp did not. In addition, the bass, while always surprising for monitors this small (which will go down to 37Hz), was never as fast or as strong as it is now. It has caused two bass traps to be ordered for behind the listening position as well thicker panels to absorb the bounce behind the speakers. A quick test with the Maggie LRS and I'm hearing bass that is much stronger and more controlled than with the Vidar/Freya+ that runs in the other room. For me, the Tyrs are a winner. They have plenty of power and what appears to be amazing control over the drivers. They bring out so much detail, but are in no way harsh. Definitely an iron fist in a velvet glove situation. YMMV. As others have done, I also had to move my speakers a bit farther from the wall and also a bit farther apart as it seemed to make things sound more "right". The weekend will allow me more time to mess around with them. I'll see how the Freya S versus + changes things. I can also try the Maggies a bit more, and possible move everything to a larger room for a while. I'm loving them so far. Definitely keepers.

That's a spline, silly. But if it helps any, it looks pretty similar to my amp.
I used far less cardboard on your amp but those splines sure do look familiar.😁
