Following @Ableza 's comment, why would anyone want to by a steel mill? A coal mine would be just as glamorous and probably cost less.
One could probably buy Gary, Indiana… at a discount. :triportsad:

Whoah! You also build knives too? …just when you think you know a guy’s online personna…:) Nice! My spouse shook her head sadly with my latest acquisitions from Grohnmann… a #4, an Ulu, and a 1-off from their clearance e-table.
I like to stay active and I tend to keep learning. Once I am able to get back into the shop I will finish a few knives and send you pictures. I started with Japanese style cutlery to go with some of the cutting boards I made.

My son is the same way as far as learning new things, the downstairs of his house flooded when he was in Sweden so he and a friend from Japan decided to tile the whole downstairs. Steps, bar, floors after putting in a proper drainage system. Neither had done tile work in their lives. He is beginning to do woodworking as well, his background is computer science as is the friend who helped.

I learned of Schiit audio from my son, he is generally ahead of me in some areas of electronics. I began teaching him electronics and computers when he was four and by the age of 14 he was making $50 an hour and had no debt when he was graduated from college.

I have not seen the work on the downstairs yet because of Covid but will this Xmas. A customer recommended this audio shop to me for my next visit.

The owner is into tube power amps from what I have been told so it could be fun especially with statements like this.

WE ADMIT IT.

When it comes to the brands we offer,

we're absolutely ruthless and completely biased.

I have this strange feeling that I've been there before.

It's more the source of the pun as opposed to the pun itself.

Deja Vu all over again?

His collection of vintage gear is supposed to be impressive.

So I believe some of you have Zu DWs. How do you like them? What are their strengths and weaknesses, music wise? I'm thinking of popping for some when they come available again.
Zu Omen Dirty Weekend + Aegir here. Great combo! The DW is a very engaging and lively-sounding speaker with great imaging. It's not exactly a traditional 'audiophile' speaker though (meaning that it only sounds good with audiophile jazz) - the DW can rock!

There was an audio shop nearby that sold Sonus Faber speakers and Aqua La Voce DACS but apparently they did not survive the pandemic.

Looks like ABBA has released a new album. Good news for @Pietro Cozzi Tinin and all the other fans!
I'm in a sort of a bind.
I will get this new ABBA album and listen to measure it's punishability for stupid remarks.
As the principal writer of the ABBA and Bony M jurisprudence I have no choice.
What if I like it? I will be forced to rewrite the whole law again... pffff.
Let's hope it is more of the same old same old that we very much like when no one else is in the neighborhood and crap on when in company of other music and audio specialists.

For the same reasons anybody tries something new:
- To expand one's horizon
- To see what happens
- For tits and pickles
;p
Yea, those motivations are not wise when running a business.

I have a pair of the Zu SW with the clarity capacitor upgrade. I really enjoy them. They have a delightful midrange that is outstanding with acoustic material. Highs are extremely good, not too bright or fatiguiing with just enough "sparkle" to be entertaining without coloring the sound overtly. Bass is the least best area of the design: it is tight and controlled but lacks the punch of more bass heavy speakers. This is not a complaint for me, just an observation that if you listen to a lot of "thumper" music, it is going to be too polite for some tastes. I have paired them with a couple of different amps but they currently coexist with a single stereo Schiit Aegir along with the Schiit Freya S. A really outstanding combination.

For the money I think it might be hard to beat the Zu DW if you are interested in a full spectrum driver design, especially considering how amazing the cabinets look. Truly high end furniture grade cabinets (mine are in Walnut.)

Well...it's like the album is calling to you..."take a chance on me" 😉

Hmmm..."very much like"? Closet ABBAphiles?
