and radio stations across the country
Not in my experience. It was world-wide.Really? Interesting. I always thought the cocaine culture in disco was limited to Manhattan scene.
Maybe that's why I never liked disco. One of the main driving forces behind disco was cocaine...
I missed those days, they just flew right by me. I started getting interested with Van Halen.
I miss those days... NOT!

I graduated HS mid '70's. The "cool kids" listened to WQDR in Raleigh, NC. At that time they were an FM "Progressive Rock Album station". I remember listening to the "King Biscuit Flour Hour" concerts on Sunday evenings.
One couldn't travel far in my little town 50 miles from Capital City without seeing a WQDR sticker on a car bumper (often with a voluminous cloud of smoke escaping from a side window). WQDR stickers were on lockers, notebooks .... I recall seeing an embroidered WQDR jeans jacket (in rainbow colors).
There were many lamentations when several years later they changed their playlist to Country. We switched to WRDU.
I monitor this guy's blog about all things Pi... HAT... I'm still feeding my nook with my Chromebook and iPad... This source helped me about Pi... https://archimago.blogspot.com/I'm researching a Pi-based Roon endpoint for a Bifrost Multibit/Valhalla 2 headphone stack. I am assuming the use of a HAT to improve the quality of the signal. While I am aware of units like the Allo Digione Signature that should give out a clean SPDIF signal, I also realize that I could upgrade the Bifrost with a Unison board and get as good if not better quality of input signal handling via USB--thing is, do I still need a HAT to isolate a clean USB signal from the inherently noisy Pi board? If so, any recommendations?
Curious... what kind of kakka does one get off Pi 3's USB interfacing with a Schiit DAC. Pops... dropouts?Usb off the pi4 works really well. Why not try it and add a hat if you feel the need?
(usb off pi3 is poo)

I wouldn't bother with any fancy Audiofool accessories for a Pi myself.I'm researching a Pi-based Roon endpoint for a Bifrost Multibit/Valhalla 2 headphone stack. Agree on everything save the adapter. Canakit’s adapter is 3.5 amps. don’t know how much stress Roon puts on the Pi, but better safe. And at (eek) amazon, you get a free inline power switch.I wouldn't bother with any fancy Audiofool accessories for a Pi myself.
Grab this and you will be good to go.
