Yeah, mine is pretty cool, especially compared to the OG Freya. Still gets warm though, and not sure I should stack something on top of it.My Freya S runs cool, even when switched on

If it's Topping, they recommended it!!!But how does it measure? Does ASR recommend it?

lol that's what triggered my post! Well done!If it's Topping, they recommended it!!!
I'm pretty sure Jason mentioned that Thor was ruled out because of having to deal with so many copyrights etc...They could name it Thor. That’s Loki’s big brother, right?

Does it have vent holes on top? are they real or for show?
If it doesnt have real vent holes on top you could likely stack something on it.

My Jotenheim puts off a surprising amount of heat. I had my Bifrost 2 stacked on it (thinking the DAC likes to "warm up" so why not help it!) but that seemed too toasty. They are side by side now, which seems better. I'm going to improve airflow in the furniture piece I'm using as a rack, both for them and my 2 Vidars (which also get warm when run hard).

IIRC, Freya S was listed at ~ 20W power consumption, so likely the holes are real and designed for cooling. unlike the DACs where some of the holes are closed off to help meet EMI emissions (aka FCC, EN) requirements.Does it have vent holes on top? are they real or for show?

Get the joke, but to be truthful, thinking that a rack will make a difference in the sound is more in line with magical thinking audiophiles... no need to measure!

for Modi Multibit, and the mid-size DACs and amps (e.g. Asgard, Jotunheim) that tend to have higher power consumption ratings, having a suitable multi-level open-frame rack may help lower operating temps and increase component life vs direct stacking.

No really... You need special pads for the rack feet too!Get the joke, but to be truthful, thinking that a rack will make a difference in the sound is more in line with magical thinking audiophiles... no need to measure!

I set mine in rice to increase damping and minimize vibrational noise

Rice is messy, you should try maglev feet, I hear they make a huge difference. No really... You need special pads for the rack feet too!

True dat.
They do seem to mess up my MC cartridge, though.

If you stack the Bifrost 2 on top of the Jotunheim, it blocks the amp's vents and makes it run quite a bit hotter. Have you tried the other way around?
I'm currently stacking my Jotunheim atop my Bifrost 2 and they certainly run warm, but I can easily keep my hands on both.
