Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Some of my work with dud tubes on the right, a headphone rack, all wiring is internal. Both tubes are light but it may not show well in the photo.
Because I know nothing about tubes, especially when used for structural purposes, I wonder how many cycles that tube will endure as a hp holder.

I have had no issues in six months of use and I built another half dozen HP stands for friends. One can buy dud tubes by the pound so supply is not an issue. Both tubes will unplug to be replaced. Really they are more sturdy than you might imagine but if something were to happen it is a quick fix.
Currently I have moved on to other projects but I may build one in solid cherry to match my new stereo rack. IMG_0774 (1).jpg

I am not selling these so if a friend damaged a tube I would just send them one, here is a kit I sent out, in solid cherry. I just use LED's and batteries so there is little risk. Drilling the holes for concealed wiring is the biggest issue but I like a challenge.

A quick reminder: it's a delta-sigma vs True Multibit thunderdome tonight at the Schiitr. If you're in the area, meet me there from 6-10PM!

Yes, before PG&E turns off the power!

Seriously are the rolling blackouts affecting Schiit at all? Hope not. Time to put up solar panels?

These aren't rolling blackouts - PG&E turned off their power completely due to high winds outside the valley areas. Expectations are that power will be turned back on tomorrow sometime, but depending on what happens when the switch is flipped, folks could be without power for another day to 5 days.

Mr. Cowen gifted me a complete set of tubes for a Cary amp, if he wanted paisley cables I would try to make them for him.:smile_phones:

When you told me there were Philips ECG's in it when you received it, I just couldn't help myself. Friends don't let friends listen to Philips ECG's. :relaxed:

Seems that only appeals to Apple folk

Is that paisley, or psychedelic? Seems that sunglasses should be included with them.

Too dull?
There is this :sunglasses: but I thought you might like the purplish one.

I do believe they are Paisley, see the dotted curves etc. :microscope:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course. So's ugly, of which those are.

Actually I planted those knowing full well it would drive you crazy and you would send me proper tubes. Some were even marked Prima Luna, the seller may be wondering what happened to those when he goes to sell that amp.
