500+ Head-Fier
Best shot I could get in a crowded and dimly lit room. Saga. The other stuff. Well there were people listening so didn't want to be rude. I'll be back tomorrow when the crowd dies down a bit.
I have power-hungry 4 ohm speakers ( Dynaudio Focus 160: SPECS ). Naturally, the Vidar has caught my eye.
Can anyone help me understand what would the power rating be if I ran two Vidars into 4 ohms?
So, do the preamps have an built-in DAC chip, or is a separate DAC mandatory to get sound out of the new Schiit?

How competitive is Freia vs. Mjolnir 2 as a preamp, aside from the remote?
Guys, if you like NOS, get your 6SN7 now, with the price point these two preamps are, and the amount of people that will be buying them, the markets going to get low stock + high price.
For people that don't care about NOS, fortunately the 6SN7 has many new production manufacturers.
Sophia / Psvane / Shuguang / JJ / Genalez / Electro-Harmonix / Sovtek / Northern Electric, I'm sure I'm missing more.
I personally love the 6SN7 tube type, just a wonderful sound. I'm super excited for the Freya.
edit:
For people that like NOS, I can't recommend the 5692 Red Base enough.
Although, they're expensive and hard to source. I think the Psvane and Sophia 6SN7 are fantastic alternatives.

Don't even have to go 6SN7...
6SN7 = many tube rolling possibilities...
The real question is what is the heater milliamp limitations on the unit...

Is that a Raspberry Pi in the background? Doing duty as music server?
