And to confirm, you can use LISST in Vali 2. It has slightly less gain (about 4 in high gain), but otherwise it works fine.

Congratulations to Schiit,

I'm glad you released the Vali 2.

I've felt microphonic qualities were a negative for an outstandingly positive company.

Still, the original is a VeryGood+ design, I know a chap that runs a Sennheiser HD800 with one and loves it ( a person on an extreme budget but copes with gourmand aspirations ) .

So, now that all the negatives are swept from the entire Company's product lines, can we finally address the Power Switch?

ps,  just kidding about the Switch!! , geez, there's nothing left to poke a sharp pencil at !!, nice going.

The original Vali was notorious for being able to smooth out the 6kHz peak in the HD800s. Since I heard you guys at Schiit use HD800s to test most of your products, do you know if this is still the case with the Vali 2, or did the switch to 6BZ7 tubes significantly change how it plays with the 800s?

About putting LISST to Vali 2:

One of the reasons my Vali 1 isn't going anywhere. Great little amp for the HD800.

Vali 2 is a cutie,

Just saw the three pix on the Web page, none of the power supply.

Gonna sell a Metric Ton of these things.

Phew,

Schiit ain't leaving much room for other Manufacturers to exist in.

I remember the Days when Honda and Toyota were closing in on us here in Michigan, I bet the other Audio Guys feel the same way.

No discussions in seedy off world bars.

I love the way you sneak in sci-fi some way somehow!

Ya know, given you can both market and engineer, there must be some entertaining 'conversations' go on in your head Jason :p

And...been said many times before but these chapters are pure gold. Your ability to make the engineering process both understandable and entertaining is truly something :beerchug:

2015, Chapter 19:

Yes, I know. Get out the blaster.

Okay, so let’s imagine for a moment that amplifier design briefs are conducted kinda like hiring a sketchy spaceship on a certain desert planet—as in, at a table in a seedy bar

A Firefly reference. Nicely worked in.

K, now can you make a LISST with an LED in it?  Having something with a cheery Christmas glow without the hassles of a tube would be fun.
