I've felt microphonic qualities were a negative for an outstandingly positive company.
Still, the original is a VeryGood+ design, I know a chap that runs a Sennheiser HD800 with one and loves it ( a person on an extreme budget but copes with gourmand aspirations ) .
So, now that all the negatives are swept from the entire Company's product lines, can we finally address the Power Switch?

ps, just kidding about the Switch!! , geez, there's nothing left to poke a sharp pencil at !!, nice going.
The original Vali was notorious for being able to smooth out the 6kHz peak in the HD800s. Since I heard you guys at Schiit use HD800s to test most of your products, do you know if this is still the case with the Vali 2, or did the switch to 6BZ7 tubes significantly change how it plays with the 800s?

Ya know, given you can both market and engineer, there must be some entertaining 'conversations' go on in your head Jason
And...been said many times before but these chapters are pure gold. Your ability to make the engineering process both understandable and entertaining is truly something
Okay, so let’s imagine for a moment that amplifier design briefs are conducted kinda like hiring a sketchy spaceship on a certain desert planet—as in, at a table in a seedy bar
The Vali 1 is wonderful "play" amplifier, it's just missing that last bit of resolution I'm used to with my mixing amps. If the Vali 2 has slightly better resolution but keeps that smoothing then upgrading is a no brainier!
I read the chapter and ordered one. Tax and usps priority shipping leaves enough change from couple of Benjies for a big cup of nice coffee. Cool. I liked the original Vali, but I use easy to drive cans. Yay gain switch!
