what does this mean for my ethernet cable into mac mini (2014) via usb to Bifrost?
Probably nothing because the parts in your Mac Mini are probably higher grade than the stuff in those "audiophile network parts."

The most I'm willing to do as far as 'audiophile' switches goes is an affordable but quality 5 or 8-port Netgear and replace the power brick with a linear PSU or just go 100% wireless (as I do now) and get a linear PSU for my router. Even then, I don't know if it would really matter, but I'd feel a little better about it without paying big bucks. :D

Would you say the USB output of the MBP is superior to that of the A&Ultima SP2000?
Thanks again :relaxed:

They’re equal after extensive A/Bing on USB outs! However, I want to save the SP2000’s battery and using it as a DAP and streamer takes quite a toll on the SP2000. You won’t be missing anything with M1,2,3 Macbooks

Jazz Fest in New Orleans is underway. Today through Sunday and next week Thursday through Sunday. For all you streamers, WWOZ.org is broadcasting live all eight days, 11 AM to 7 PM Central
I was lucky to attend Jazz Fest once. Dave Mason was on the headliner stage, but we had no interest in that. We headed for the Zydeco stage and then to the jazz tent, where the Black musicians of age ~70+ were performing. Those were the best musicians I'd ever heard in my life ... we stayed all afternoon.
YMMV as always. :)

And back to the whiskey phase on the curve...totally out of luck finding any Oregon Spirit in town. Not too surprising though. Anyway, I did take the plunge and placed an order via Oregon Spirits for a BiB Burbon, Wheat and Rye. Currently sitting in UPS's Salt Lake hub. Hopefully it will be on its way north today and delivered on Monday! Thing is, they're being delivered to my work address because of "adult" signatures, etc. I'm afraid that the way work has been going lately, those bottles might not make it out of here until they're empty! :unamused:
Enjoy! And let me know if the online transaction was/is a smooth one. :)

Very true. I have several large rolls of silver content solder but it is larger gauge and being one lb and five lb rolls it has to be pricey now. As you know the smaller gauge is best for tube pins so I keep multiple sizes.
I bought the Kester specifically for doing tube pins based on your recommendation and also that it was .020" diameter which is a perfect size for octal pins. The Cardas is .031" and just large enough to make it harder to use for that task.

I also have lead free silver, copper, and tin solder. ROHS compliant but it is not my favorite solder to use. I am shipping a couple tubes of Kester this morn and realized I promised @sam6550a some Belden silver plated wire so that is going out as well. I tend to share when I have multiples of some items, but that does not always include Melz tubes.

He prefers bar solder and a MAPP torch.
I do own bar solder as well since I use a solder pot for litz wire, not the torch though.
