Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Sweet! Looks like some nice Fotons there. Is the silkscreen still intact enough on the other side to see what year they are?
Not only are the date codes totally intact on the tubes, I also have the data sheets - September 1959!

Excellent! Any of the pre-1960 dates are great (IMO).

Cool. Sell me your CD’s for rehoming…
I keep my ripped CDs in boxes for backup, but the great majority of my music purchases are digital downloads, which I keep in replicated form across several locations for safe backup.

Apos Rays are the tube-du-jure on YouTube lately. That's all I know about them.

I felt the same way, until I bought a CD Transport.
I blame Mike; he always said that a good CD Transport and DAC is the best way to replay digital recordings.
It didn’t seem logical to me, but, to my ears, CDs rule for digital recordings.
I've studied this matter quite closely, and I have some relevant technical background. A good CD transport may sound better than a mediocre streamer for several reasons that I could go into if needed. But there are also good streamers, it's just that good streamers tend to cost more than equivalently good transports.

I would certainly welcome it as a learning opportunity.

Are those metallic nano particles?

Nobody knows. I think it's not the old school AgI particle there. Definitely top secret stuff. Normal contrail condensation disperse into transparent gas within 5 seconds or so hence contrails dissipate as the plane crosses through and does not leave end to end horizon long trails while those chemtrails stay there and blankets the sky after some hours passed

Even those contrails from Blue Angels airshows dissipate pretty quickly while those from 40K+ feet altitude stay there blanketing the until the next day where winds pretty much dispersed them completely

Digital sources are connected to DACs with electrical connections of various types (leaving out optical here which had its own issues). Depending on the design and implementation of both source and DAC, electrical noise from the source can leak into the actual D2A process in the DAC and affect its analog output. Technologies like Schiit's Unison on the DAC side work to reduce the impact of upstream electrical noise, with audible improvements. A streamer is a computer connected to a network as well as to power, with much greater circuit complexity and opportunities for noise intrusion than the much simpler CD transport, which has a single job. A streamer has to run multiple processes involving processor, memory, network interfaces all with their own electrical effects on the signals from the streamer to the DAC. Those effects are too small to affect how the DAC interprets the incoming waveforms as bits (or else the streamer would just be a broken streamer), but they are the kind of noise that is difficult to keep out of all of the DAC's circuitry.

What’s your view on a IOS device streaming to a Unison port?

I see that the last two songs on the album are by Ante Gelo, who is also a world-class guitarist and lately only growing in his creative output.

Which reminds me of Miloš Karadaglić, at the moment probably the best classical guitarist in the world. Both of them make music sound so effortless.

Had all some time ago. Thank you for introduce it to us.
