Read some post at the MJ3 thread, about the signal input voltage to it from other brands, is that 2V is the norm for Schiit products?
I think he was asking how much a MJ3 could take bc he wants to use a Wandla and they output up to 9v.Read some post at the MJ3 thread, about the signal input voltage to it from other brands, is that 2V is the norm for Schiit products?
I think 2V is the canonical 0 dB level for single-ended DAC outputs, 4V for XLR. My Holo May puts out more than 4V, so I have a passive pre between it and the various downstream amps, including the MJ3.Read some post at the MJ3 thread, about the signal input voltage to it from other brands, is that 2V is the norm for Schiit products
The output levels of some boutique DACs are getting out of hand. What's the point of 9V? Bragging rights?I think he was asking how much a MJ3 could take bc he wants to use a Wandla and they output up to 9v.

Yes, indeed .... I suggest @Jason Stoddard make a list of maximum permissible input level voltage of all HP amps/Pre and Power amps .....I think 2V is the canonical 0 dB level for single-ended DAC outputs, 4V for XLR. Ahhhh, the new Craft 192kHz remaster. Been saving this one until I can give it a proper cranked listening sesh.Another excellent evening musical experience courtesy of Qobuz > Roon > HQPlayer > Holo May > Schiit Mjolnir 3 > ZMF Caldera:

It won't charge up a Tesla ......... use a DAC as a battery?![]()
Anything with HDMI is a no go for Schiit so that portion will never happen.
No arguments from me…
I wish my cat was inclined to use her kitty spot. My Yggy is on top of a cabinet next to my desk where the rest of my gear is, and she much prefers to be on top of the Yggy instead of her bed!I see I am not the only one with a cat bed next to my listening station. Yay, kitties!
