My Technics fully auto DD 'table uses a *GASP* "P-Mount" cartridge. It works just fine and recently I replaced it and it took me no time at all and the new one works just as well. Many frAudians desperately desire music playback to be somehow "difficult". Pfffft!
I love plug in cartridges on my b&o turntable. For such a beat up device it sounds great ... the tonearm is very light and the isolation of the platter is EXCEPTIONAL ... if Schiit ever decides to build turntables again, it should look at this design though assembly may need to be outside the USA. Good examples by the Bay and replacement cartridges, licensed by bo, at Sound-smith dot com
I much prefer two or three small device-specific remotes to one or two large remotes that have fifteen buttons that could control a device I don't even own, like so much of the industry foists on us. Clean and simple is best. Granted, I don't have three preamps and a couple of headphone amps and DACs I am juggling, either.
The Christmas album came out a few years before his Sinatra albums. The Christmas album is pretty grim, and I’m not that keen on the Sinatra ones either.
Mark Tremonti, of Alter Bridge, did a Sinatra album fairly recently, and it’s actually quite listenable. It’s better than Dylan’s!
