Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Have you ever compared Folkvangr to Mjolnir 2 or 3? Not an apples to apples comparison, but I’d be interested to hear your thoughts and takeaways from each🎧
All three are great amps, each scratches an entirely different itch for me. Mjolnir 3 has become my favorite headphone amp for orchestral music, Folkvangr has become my favorite headphone amp for rock and other "popular" music, and Mjolnir 2 is a great allrounder that sonically sits somewhere in the middle between the two.

What are the tubes you have in it?
The eight stock, Schiit-provided power tubes in the background, and a matched pair of ECC88 Genalex Gold Lion in the front. They're by far my favorite 6922-compatible tube, but they've gotten a bit pricey in recent years, because Russia, and they don't have the best track record with me in terms of longevity.

Well this one was hidden inside a battleship! Yes!
The USS North Carolina in Wilmington NC.
The states WW2 Memorial for all the those that served our country in WW2.
Army, Navy, Marines, Cost Guard, Army Air Force.

I am a docent and teach, give tours, explore fire control computers, ballistics, radios, radar etc.

A wonderful place for a retired electrical engineer type to play with technology of 1940's.
Thousands of tubes still on board in original cartons!!

I always wondered if they had a tube tester. I found this one a few weeks ago researching radios and transmitters on board.
Its in plain sight but in a locked off the tour route area.

Today.

This is Radio Central one of 1 dozen radio locations on the battleship.

"Thousands of tubes still on board in original cartons!"

I can hear the commands now, " Stand by to make sail! Lay aloft and loose topgallants! Clear away the jib!"
As the "Tube Pirates of the Carolina's" prepare to set sail.

This was several years ago so if I took any I don't have them, but here is a web shot of the same system:

May I inquire why cork flooring rates "never again?"

golfbravobravo is correct. I never tried to remove the stuff. At least it does not have any asbestos. I guess.

+1 for the current manufactured gold lions. Only new stock I've liked. I have these for my Fv (though I usually use nos tele's), and their 12ax7's beat out a lot of nos options I have in my Hagerman.

Mmmm tubes.🤪 Unfortunately I am in my shop waiting for a friend to pick up an old Pioneer receiver so I have that running. I hoped to start on a purple headphone cable except Finnegan is on my lap waiting for something to attack.🐯
I like purple!!
LOL!

Hope all is well with you!
Using purple interconnects at the moment!!
Wonderful!

Same here with the Genalex/Gold Lion 6922s:

Doing well, it is your headphone cable I hoped to start soon. I taught a couple people how to do four and eight wire braids then forgot everything I knew about it so I need to learn again.😀 I will be using a quality litz wire that requires a bit of skill to solder properly. There is also getting the wire inside individual braided mesh.🤔

Think price of middle-class home in most** of the USA.
** excludes a carolina blue ‘abode’ in the Atlanta vicinity … there may be a matching engine-less antediluvian Mazda on blocks in the gravelway … [GPS unavailable 🤷🏻‍♂️]
