Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Subwoofer? Just retired my faithful sub...

Seems kinda superfluous, somehow...
Is that a preproduction Urd on top?

Also, surely I can't be the only one who at first glance, thought I saw a microwave oven :astonished:. They should provide a way to remove the handles from the PowerPlant.

My contribution to the Sinewave. :)

Useful application of VU meters:

Saw that URD but remained quiet to see if others noticed. A very nice rig, indeed!!!

Apparently, my rig was far too plebian for me to qualify to be an URD beta tester. But then again, my rig is mostly Schiit gear, so I guess maybe it wasn't my gear and it was the fact that it was me. Oh, well -- maybe I can get in on a PYST cable or toilet paper beta in the future. :unamused:

I don't think those really qualify as VU meters.

Bill Dudleston was a big fan of Acoustic Research. The AR-9's greatly influenced his designs. That makes me grateful that I held onto my AR90's and AR58S speakers. Both still perform like new, after I refurbished them. Thought, I'd love to hear some Legacy speakers too...! :grinning:
Yeah, one of my big regrets is that I lived <1mi from Legacy when they were in Macungie and no one told me!
Their towers are unbelievable, theirs subwoofers are beautiful, and their Calibre is the stuff of dreams (for me!).

AR 90? I started listening with AR6. Their best speakers then were the 3A. Vilchur was still there.

AR 90? I started listening with AR6. Their best speakers then were the 3A. Vilchur was still there.

The AR90s were the AR9s 'little brothers'. The 85lb each 90s were slightly shorter, and had 2 10" side firing woofers, as apposed to the 9's dual 12" woofers. Both had the same midrange drivers and tweeters. Both great speakers.

Along with my 90s, I have the 58S model, AR92s, AR5s, AR18s, and AR-1MS speakers. Oh, speakers from Infinity, Monsoon, Martin Logan, and NHT as well. So, Schiit isn't the only gear that I collect...!
