Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

When I searched, I found vague or conflicting information about this, so I decided to try for myself. Regarding the Psvane 6SN7 tubes with shouldered glass envelopes, they do fit in Lyr+ without a socket saver, but require a socket saver to fit in Freya+. The problem with Freya+ is not that the tube base is too wide, but that the glass envelope will foul the edge of the circular opening in the Freya+ case, preventing the tube from being fully inserted into the socket. With a socket saver measuring 26 mm high (excluding pins), the socket end of the socket saver will be roughly flush with the top of Freya+'s case. A shorter socket saver would probably work fine, if you could find such a thing.

There was initially some alarming popping from Freya+ but it resolved itself after a few minutes of warmup. Now I just have to figure out how to get the socket savers out of there someday.

Perhaps a long thin set of needle nose pliers would help you get them out?

It would be nice to post on topic and move food and other topics elsewhere. :)
New here?

Sorry....your new here to the this looong Schiit thread.
Many of us have become great friends over the years and share lots of trivial topics in this thread.
So if you see a hamburg or airplane occasionally this is the way it is here...
There are specific threads for certain pieces of Schiit, like all the "official impressions threads..
So have an open mind.

Well said, I am on several threads but this one generally has many more folks here on any given day because we have fun and usually treat each other in a respectful manner. I do draw the line at being nice to @bcowen but he is the exception.

in the past, this thread, unlike many others here on Head-Fi, has had a strong tendency to meander as Jason is often super busy developing new products, re-designing for continued production of existing products in the face of materials shortages and obsolescence by component manufacturers (NRND), etc.

Came for Jason's posts, stayed for the Schiit Sine
The community in this thread has turned out to be one of the best things I've stumbled across on Head-Fi :)

Welcome to the thread. We used to require all newcomers to read all posts from the beginning but I think that rule was relaxed when we passed the 100,000 mark.

Check out our sine wave, though. It reports (and sometimes anticipates) current topics on the thread.
