Yes, but... I've listened/owned quite a few NOS DACs, and however delightful they are in pure NOS, ultimately they fall short in one area or another for Redbook material. But complemented with well-chosen external DSP, which requires a sufficiently powerful computer, the story can be different, but the cost may end up above $8K.
Come on. Pretend it's a business PowerPoint presentation and you're limited to 2 slides with 3 bullet points each. And you must use A4 slide size and minimum 18 point Callibri font.

I have several pet wolverines that live in the basement level of my 3 story house. I enjoy shooting various wild animals that venture into my back yard from my 3rd floor balcony with my trusty .22 rifle (with scope). Birds, squirrels, raccoons, skunks. Anything I kill, the wolverines collect and eat.
Fun reading folks first concerts. Mine was either David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust days, or the Moody Blues with Mike Pinder. Both at the Long Beach Arena.
How about first two channel systems?
Mine was a Sherwood 8900 Receiver, a Dual 1219 turntable with Shure cart, a Sony TC-366 R to R deck, and a pair of JBL Lancer 77 speakers.
Those were the days when I still had my high frequency hearing.
My first real system* was as follows:
NAD Model 120 Stereo Receiver
Harksound (CEC) HS210 Turntable with an Ortofon cart
Toshiba (Aurex) PC-X20 Cassette Deck
Magnavox DIY 3-way speakers with 8-30 Woofers
All this bought with money from a morning paper round and after school work
My mother constantly reminded me I wasn't deaf, but I would soon hahaha
* before then my brother and I had a radio each (mine also included air-band )
I'd be interested in your thoughts on the 120S Mk II. I had the Mk 1 in my system for a bit (on loan) and found it very muddy sounding. Much better to me were the McIntosh MC275 V5 and CJ LP66S (although the latter had significantly less power: the Mac however sounded much more powerful than its rating) I also listened to at the same time. Pre-amp was probably either a CJ 17LS or a Modwright 36.5 (can't remember which).
