Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Have you said which REL and Sonus Faber you ended up with?
REL T/5I's and Olympica 1's. They are really all I need in this space and with eight KT 88's in the PrimaLuna I am not hurting for power. I may have to rob some KT-90's from my Cary just to see how they sound as well.

I recommend DCA Aeon, I had the RT before I upgraded, it sounds fantastic.
Thanks again for the deal on the RT, they are great too.

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons

This by the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble is my favorite by far (I've probably listened to a couple of dozen versions). Original instruments but without any of the screech or rigid inflexibility of most early instrument groups. Superb, bravura playing that elucidates the programmatic aspects perfectly. On BIS, with their usual superb sound.

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons

Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante (also original instruments) do a quick, dramatic rendition that is well balanced. Also with excellent sound, on Opus 111.

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons; Concertos for 3 & 4 violins

A somewhat guilty pleasure, this version is usually too slow, with a bit too much Italianate sweetness. But Accardo's playing and gorgeous tone - on a different Stradivarius violin for each concerto - are enchanting. I Solisti play on modern instruments. Very good Philips/Decca sound.

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons - Janine Jansen

An excellent chamber sized rendition on modern instruments. Very good sound.

Edit: I earlier confused the above Europa Galante recording with the below. The former is quick and dramatic but it is this latter by Alessandrini and Concerto Italiano that is fast and highly dramatic. Excellent sound. Also Opus 111, I think, which may have contributed to the confusion.

The Four Seasons, Violin Concerto No. 1 in E Major, RV 269 Spring: I. Allegro
Listened to and enjoyed the last 2, will try to listen all of your suggestions.

Finnegan sez “my work is done”

(Unless you have some cables you want bitten in half)
LOL I know better than to leave iphone IEC cables laying around, I tend to find pieces all over the house.

Just thinking aloud:

I have a feeling that Folkvangr might especially be appreciated by people who don't listen to a lot of classical.
It's a fantastic amp especially for blues, rock, folk, and electro — essentially any genre where distortion is a built-in part of the deal. Even pure acoustic recordings to a degree.
With classical, though, Folkvangr sounds …noisy? …strained? …kinda "fake"?

I really need to make space to have both—Folkvangr and Mjolnir—always available for listening at my desk. For what I listen to, they complement each other perfectly.

As I am typing this, I am listening to "Can't Take it Back" by Lissie (album is "Back to Forever," Qobuz via Roon on macOS, USB out) on the Folkvangr (high gain, impedance multiplier engaged) via Iggy OG and a Lokius (roughly set to 12, 11, 10, 10, 11, 12 o'clock) through a pair of Focal Elex (that still haven't broken down on me, btw) — and it sounds positively 👌🏻.

Also looks like I might actually have to bite the bullet and spring for a second Yggy OG, while it's still available. The difference to Gumby is just too clear to be ignored, now that I've heard what this thing can do with my headphone amps. And Gumby just doesn't really cut it in my living room setup where it's currently living. The living room chain is really missing the Yggy OG's eloquence in the bottom end. Especially down low or with transients, the Tyrs' continue to blow me away with the Yggy in the chain, but they are a bit underwhelming with Gumby.

Nice collection he gave you, but I don't expect that he would have given you his cherished MM collection. :D
I paid for specific things I wanted, I am not a mooch, some of the time. All told I kept the buying trip under five figures. I was tempted to buy more but U-haul wants you to return the cargo vans with a full tank of gasoline. I suffered a lot too, I had this margarita in Washington PA. (Not good)

Then my son made some with salt air foam and various types of tequila, lime, and dry curaçao that were to die for.
This can help those wanting to learn.

That's all he needs...just his MM collection, his Sony CD Walkman, these headphones, and this shirt...

That pic of the margarita is like looking at a car crash. I feel for your stomach lining.
The first, not the second, just trust me on that lol. The first is from a Mexican restaurant, food was ok but the margarita was awful.

your son needs some schiit coasters to stack on the functional / protective ones.
(of course, would have been better if i posted this before you started the road trip)

is that gatorade or Mountain Dew in the Washington PA "margaritas" (can't be radiator coolant as its toxic too expensive)

It's challenging to find good "exotic" food in Eastern PA. OTOH, PA does diners like no where else :)
