That worked for my Vidar as well.My Vidars developed a hum. Snugging up the bolts eliminated it.

I bought a Damascus blank and finished it myself. My shop is too packed to add a forge. That is only early work on the handle, my spindle sander was put to good use. I am making gifts for former employees and needed some quick gifts for the men. Women are easy….to build for that is.Do you make your own Damascus, or do you source it from somewhere?
Nice. I do like gifting knives. I’m mostly a stock removal guy myself. Tried forging Damascus a couple time with mixed results. I don’t have a press or a power hammer and hand forging Damascus is tough, especially for me who is just a hobbyist.I bought a Damascus blank and finished it myself. I have thoughts of building some cutting boards with matching knife handles. I have made plenty of Santukos but I am considering making some very sharp cleavers maybe 2.5 inches tall that will glide along the knuckles easily for fine chopping and cutting. Maybe 12" long overall.Nice. I do like gifting knives. I’m mostly a stock removal guy myself. Tried forging Damascus a couple time with mixed results. I love the idea of cutting boards and matched knife handles. Those would make some lovely gifts!I have thoughts of building some cutting boards with matching knife handles. Dude, the screw's magnetic. Plebeian…Also, non-magnetic, includes the screw, and plenty in stock.
Nice I am also a fan of spalted maple.I love the idea of cutting boards and matched knife handles. Those would make some lovely gifts!
I mostly do hunting style knives, but have recently branched into kitchen knives a little. Made a santoku as a wedding gift for a friend and did a “kitchen Bowie” for myself with a handle of spalted maple that came from my yard.
I’ve seen some of your amps in this thread previously. They are stunning.Nice I am also a fan of spalted maple.
Thanks. My last two will be my prettiest if all goes well. Then I will move on to working on audio racks etc. I have a dozen drawings of headphone stands I want to build, I like to stay busy.I’ve seen some of your amps in this thread previously. They are stunning.
Silly rabbit. One can leave it off like the Furutech does.Dude, the screw's magnetic. Plebeian…
Yes @rkw, that's what I thought. However, it was not present when the mono Vidar was in the same physical location; powered by the same Analysis Plus power cable and fed by the same Audioquest XLR cable... so I have some diagnosing to do, for sure... thank you! It's physical noise (from transformer and/or choke) that has been the concern (also has been reported with Vidars). Hum from a speaker is usually a ground loop issue in your system and probably not an issue with the amplifier itself.
Double stick Sorbothane should take care of the problem. No screwing required.Dude, the screw's magnetic. Plebeian…
I work for a company that is headquartered in Ghent (Gent), Belgium. I was traveling there 6-8 times per year pre-COVID; since March 2020 I've been pining for anything from La Chouffe, or a Rodenbach Grand Cru, or a Westmalle Trappist, or (!) a Rochefort 10, or a Gulden Draak... hell, I'll even take a Duvel. Headed back in June... can't wait!I've said this before, Chimay in the US is but a pale shadow of Chimay in Italy. I guess I'll have to add Belgium or The Netherlands to the list of places Mrs. macdonjh and I will travel to. I just won't tell her the reason I want to go is beer. Maybe there are other reasons to go, but a proper pint of Chimay is reason enough for me.
I hesitate to suggest it, but you could try swapping the Tyrs left/right ( 110 lbs) and seeing if the speaker hum moves to the other side. However, you really can't assume that Tyrs and mono Vidars should behave the same; it depends on grounding in the internal circuits.Yes @rkw, that's what I thought.
