The natural expansion of social distancing to include social exclusion.I'm in a class all by myself.
@davidflas ...I checked with info@schiit.com ... ... ... ... before buying my latest pair of glass. Tom E. gave me a definative answer. My 2 cents...Yup. Freya+, Saga+, and Lyr 3 (though not the OG Lyr or Lyr 2).
And you are a master of understatement.I'm in a class all by myself.
I'm always open to advice before buying something, especially tubes. My current Schiit tube products are a Valhalla 2 and and Vali 2, and so far I've only bought a second set of tubes directly from Schiit, hoping to branch out soon.@davidflas ...I checked with info@schiit.com ... ... ... ... before buying my latest pair of glass. It can be done by applying voltage to the filaments or by drilling a hole in the keyway of octal tubes without drilling into the glass and inserting an LED. I did this for some headphone stands and used CR 2032 batteries and a switch in the base. What in sam hell am I looking at?! It. Is. Beautiful.
That's a bit like saying one with a Hasselblad camera cannot truly appreciate photographic art. One can seek to own high quality equipment and still appreciate their preferred art, whether it be photography or music. I know a few artists and they are as anal as most audiophiles -- if not more!Audiophiles don't listen to music. They listen to sounds emanating from playing music. Audiophyllia has nothing to do with music appreciation.
I have zero issues with people spending their own money as they see fit. Truly. But, I do bristle a bit when reviewers describe/imply very expensive luxury goods as "affordable".I looked at the picture and figured it might cost around 20k€. Nope, not even close. That’s almost as much as I paid for my house.
ROFL!

Please pay attention. Schiit doesn't build a class D amp, but they do build amps with switching supplies. If you want a Hypex class D with a switching supply, there are plenty of options out there. Go spend your money.
What else could it be? A MK II.Looks like an SLA70 in the background?
"Please pay attention"? OK you were the one calling for using Hypex modules, so now you have my attention, tell me something I don't know? Please pay attention. Schiit doesn't build a class D amp, but they do build amps with switching supplies.
Missed that one! Ordered! Thanks!!
I love quality music live on Bluray.
I wasn't asking about Hypex amp modules, I was asking about switching supplies. Sure, they have a similar operating principle, but good switching supplies offer a lot more to various circuits. Manley is using them with nearly all of their new products, including their very best mics and micpres. Given Jason's recent statement about the Tyr's weight, it's probably a linear supply. One reason I'm curious about the Tyr is to see whether any Continuity circuit, switchable (meaning bias currents in Continuity) or not, is included."Please pay attention"? OK you were the one calling for using Hypex modules, so now you have my attention, tell me something I don't know?
