Notice I said I cut the cards, I also like to examine a deck to be sure the four aces are there to start, that is about it. Long day tomorrow, I have a feeling @bcowen was watching a great game between App State and Coastal Carolina. Just a hunch though.
I saw his list of the best DAC's and that was enough for me, I have not been back since. My local group did a listen on twenty very good units and our results were, um, very different.
I got DSOTM,The Wall, and WYWH. I will get back to them when I can, I only got a first listen in today since I was working from home. The best sound I got was through a Gungnir, Incubus, and Focal Utopias but calls kept interrupting so I will need to get back to that.
Bond aside for a moment, tomorrow another version of Dune starts on HBO Max, ( I stay away from pirated versions). A book that is very difficult to do in one movie but here’s hoping they do half the book well and a sequel is soon to follow. One of my favorite works of Science Fiction.
Haven't read the books or seen the previous adaptations, but I really liked the new Dune when I saw in the theaters over a month ago. Bond was great too, although Skyfall and Casino Royale remain my favourites.
That does look fantastic! The idea for us is going back in the "summertime" (if you want to call it that, I've read all kinds of stories on Icelandic summer weather) to visit the Highlands, as most of the roads leading there are already impassable or restricted to super jeeps and experienced drivers.
However, I think the scenery over there does call for some dramatic weather, it just looks so pretty when it's foggy and/or pouring
Sine Wave: I think I have a few topics to update now, thanks to you all. New version underway
It's getting harder though to pick out a distinct topic - as a group y'all tend to spin back to the topics. Interesting experiment.
Cutting 4 is hard enough, I would have to show you on Zoom or some such program. A video can be done, and redone till it comes out the way you want it to. After three aces the fourth gets very difficult. I have only run about 300 samples but I have a pretty good feel for my odds. All you have to do is disregard the ways this cannot be done in under say 20 attempts and what is left should be the answer.
Actually, I started with a typo. I think the arithmetic is correct (assuming the typo is corrected to 4/52), but I didn't check it. Apparently there's no reason to check it since you think I'm wrong. I don't believe you put any stipulations as to where in the pack the aces could be, so I didn't consider the attempt to be invalid if an ace happened to be at the top or bottom.
We saw a trailer for Dune when we went to see No Time to Die. It only took them two minutes to dash my hopes the movie would be what I consider faithful to the book. I guess I will have to reset my expectations and hope it's good story telling. I liked the new 007 film, but I think Skyfall remains my favorite of the latest generation.
I realized it was a typo, just kidding around.Your answer is most likely very close if you just use numbers. Management by objectives works perfectly as long as real people are not involved. You can probably build a machine that flips a coin so accurately the it could achieve 50/50 heads and tails far faster than a human. I was talking my odds of doing this. Just a standard deck of cards, brand new ones are a little slick for the type of cut I would use and I might end up dropping some. Off to work for me then DUNE!!
