My only worry is that in all the BBQ wars not one of these experts has mentioned there isn't A North Carolina BBQ, there are TWO.

I know that. Suffice it to say that whichever one @bcowen doesn't eat is the better of the two. :smirk:

It was not your quote initially. It was a quote from @Paladin79 replying to you regarding your tube mishap.

Thanks for that. I generally rely on the advice here. My only worry is that in all the BBQ wars not one of these experts has mentioned there isn't A North Carolina BBQ, there are TWO.
You cannot expect Mr. Cowen to acknowledge the existence of the other type sauce!! That would be like Ohio State saying something other than “that team up north” when referring to Michigan, it just isn’t done.😜😜😜

I am disappointed that it is only after 3 years as a North Carolinian that I discover that there are two types of sauce. That MUST mean that the 'other' type is the one you all tease @bcowan about. I therefore conclude that we in NC are obviously better. We have choices whereas you people down in that odd shaped state have only what has been foisted upon you all these years.

Indiana is not known for bar-b-cue, we have to travel to Tennessee or Kansas city for it. :)

The Big Lebowski is more fun and can serve the same purpose.😜 260 times in a much shorter movie.
If time is of the essence, you can do the whole thing in about 10 minutes:

I believe they counted 274...

Yeah I never really counted. If were not familiar with the drink the white Russian, you sure were by the end of the movie.

12AT7 and 12AU7 are a safe bet with the proper adapter. This family of tubes support both 12v and 6v heater filament voltages and with a 12A*7 to 6SN7 adapter it will present 6v to the amp. I've used these on my Lyr 3 and Incubus with no issues. @Deyan is a HF member and makes the needed high quality adapters.
FYI 12AT7 is 3 times the gain of a 12AU7. I wouldn’t recommend it. There are a bunch of 12AU7 variants to choose from.

While I do not choose to try adaptors for some tubes I probably spend more time trying to help @bcowen not destroy devices with some of his choices. My replies to him usually start with the words "Are you nuts????" and go on from there.

And every time you ask me that question I always respond affirmatively. So....are you nuts? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Your conclusions are incorrect.

The fact that you have a choice of sauces in no way implies that you're better.

TX BBQ is superior to NC BBQ as it requires no sauce at all. The fact that you have two types of sauce forces me to draw the conclusion that NC BBQ is so bad that you have not one, but two ways to disguise it's hideousness.

TX BBQ joints have sauces available to appease yankees (FWIW, I was born in PA therefore a yankee) and those who don't understand that good BBQ is delicious just as it comes off the smoker.

As always, YMMV. :sunglasses:
