So as we all got off topic, let's bring it back for some wild predictions of these new products. Here are my guesses:
- DSD Decoder DAC with PCM playback as well
- Pro audio interface. A first device that would make sense would be a line/in device to go with the phono preamp for digital vinyl dubs.
- Really good ADC (like Mytek ADC)
- Really good ADC/DAC (like RME ADI-2)
- Home studio recording interface (like Apogee Duet or RME Babyface)
- DSD encoding device? What?
- New portable DAC that is an improvement on Fulla. Fulla 2 perhaps?
- Portable amp, not Amp/DAC, just amp (I mean 'cause portable DAPs like X3 2nd Gen, and X5 2nd Gen, have awesome converters already, but not a powerful headphone amp.
- Full out integrated desktop Amp/DAC - to compete with Teac HD-501/301
Let's be real though...Schiit has always made products that required plug in wall power. Fulla was first attempt at portability and it looks like it needs improvement. They have also not made any ADC's, nor is audiophile community begging for it, but pro audio market is. And good pro ADC/interfaces are expensive and the cheaper ones sound terrible - this could be an opportunity from Schiit as many more productions are done in smaller home studio's and are yearning for better digital converters while the high end converter market is dominated by a few companies (Apogee, UA, RME, Lavery, Mytek) that charge a premium for those products.
And Jason, stop stealing my ideas...unless you want to hire me.
