Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I’ll fight anyone who says they know of an album that wasted more top-flight talent than that one.
Actually, I like DLR's first solo releases, in a guilty please way. Crazy from the Heat, Eat 'Em and Smile, and A Little Ain't Enough are all albums I still enjoy. Skyscraper not as much. Your Filthy Little Mouth marks the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned. Sure, there is nothing ground breaking musically in any of these collections, but David is such a cliche machine I can't help but smile when I listen to the lyrics. "Dogtown Shuffle" is a good example.

LOL! Funny the things you remember after lots of years. The first actual paycheck I received at the ripe old age of 16 was ~$63 after taxes, and I immediately went to Record Bar (remember them?) and spent the bulk of it on LP's. Steppenwolf Gold was one of them. My audio addiction affliction started early.

Yeah...started as a Fry-cook and quickly figured out I liked Lifeguarding better. Pretty much spent all my money on audio or beer. We had several independent record stores until we got a Peaches Record store. Can't tell you how many crates I filled before I made the switch to CD's

ROFL!! I had to delete my Facebook account after multiple death threats from Texas residents. I mean, it's just BBQ for cryin' out loud, and how exactly is it *my* fault that NC BBQ is better? Criminy. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Continuing to dig, I see. Now those threats will resume and you'll have to cancel your Head-Fi account as well. :)

One of my favorite Steve Vai tunes:

My kids and I used to "dance" (more like race around the house) while "Juice" was playing. Taken as a whole, this is one of my favorite Steve Vai releases.

Tower Records for us...

@GearMe good stuff from Chickenfoot, thanks for posting that. Lots of good energy in that classic.

Sound Warehouse in Texas. Gone now, of course. Thankfully a couple of very good new and used record shops here in the Dallas, TX area -- 'Josey Records' and 'Forever Young Records'. 'Forever Young Records, also sells restored vintage audio gear, cassettes, and has a room for HiFi records, Chrysalis 1/2-speed masters, Mobile Fidelity, etc!!

A&B Records, in Vancouver. Sam The Record Man, in Toronto.
Do you shop at both in the same day? That's dedication.

Oh man, I may have to consider the possibility there is something good in DFW (Houston resident)! DFW BBQ even tastes imported from North Carolina.

Dang it. But if I do that, who's going to keep an eye on @Ripper2860 ? I'm only here to serve the public good.

@bcowen -- I see you were a late bloomer. I started my adventures in Record Bar at the ripe old age of 12 thanks to a paper route. :D

OK, you made me look that up. I'm old, but not that old. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue:
