it's not double stick, but rather reclosable fasteners. I guess there could still be residue if I ever try to remove the tape, but I can swap out other items (depending on orientation) without removing tape, just pull them apart
**edit** the thickness is just about right too, since everything lines up whether the device has the stick on feet, or the new, shorter pressed-in feet**

I use Command strips, also by 3M. They are similar to what you post above, but they have removeable adhesive (designed for damage-free hanging of art etc.).

It makes it easy to mount small boxes (routers, hubs, etc.) on the wall in a way that leaves no mark if you decide to reposition them.

Would be perfect for this application, because you could easily remove the grip tape when necessary, leaving your Schiit nice and shiny.

Have used standard and y split versions since my first Modi 2U / Magni 2U stack.
Never any problems or issues, recommended.
