It looks portable to me.
A multibit version of this is perfect for my shop system:)

I like the toggle selector on the front. Wonder if mimby is getting upgraded as well.

Could it be USB powered?
Battery?

I don't think there will be a battery. It's a desktop DAC so it wouldn't make sense, plus Jason has made their stance on batteries pretty clear.

You could probably power it with a USB power bank (?)

Again, it's all about achieving the in-room goals. As long as the desired result is attained the brands and types chosen are moot. Once you are hearing what you intended to hear it does not matter how you get there.
Exactly! The nice thing is that we learn on the journey to get that zweeiiet sound. What i learned: by far the room is the biggest ‘EQ’ i experienced. Second is the quality of the 230v you get. The room and electricity i ve now has nothing to do with the house i was living in 15 years ago with my ex. Got lucky there, all concrete good shape living room with separate 230v from old boiler for the audio stuff. Amazing sound that was, trying to achieve again but not easy with a 100 year old house that has a wooden floor with with ‘free’ air basement below. This in a rural area where lightbulbs do flicker every now and then. Changed the speakers kicked out the sub, upgraded the DAC, properly went from xlr to rca and got sonarworks: i am very happy with the sound and in ways it is better than the concrete room but the undescripable ‘flow’ i got after the boiler change...looking for that feeling again. The pursuit of audiohapiness:heart_eyes_cat::ear::ear::call_me::fist:

Calling Capt. Deadpool!

Yes you definitely could power this by battery from the picture of the back panel. It looks like from the micro USB power port that it takes 5V DC to operate. Probably needs 500ma in current. But I'm pretty sure they intend this to be feed by a micro usb cable from a usb wall wart or a USB port.

I have come further along in my quest for the frankenfulla 2. I have selected parts and an enclosure to contain the parts and myriad cables.

Going to use this battery:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/1781

with this power board

https://www.adafruit.com/product/2465

And apple camera kit cable

and swap the Pot off the fulla 2 for the same model except the horizontal orientation version.

This will measurably shrink the form factor. It could be much smaller if the power board was integrated into the fulla board and a custom enclosure was used. But Schiit is unlikely to build anything with a lightning port on it so this custom build is the only way to get an enclosed Apple CCK (which will prolong its life and get rid of the awkward dongle).

Bonus Schiit Points to @r2muchstuff : :poop:+2

(why is the Schiit emoji in people category? Should be in nature, objects, or head-fi. But at least it is not in the food category :smirk_cat:)

Is that a Schiit emoji?
I thought it was a person with a bad hairstyle that had spent too much time on a sun bed :poop:
