Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I just found out that my Freya remote controls Saga as well!
I don`t use them together so to me it`s a feature.(I switch Freya off to save tubehours when I listen to my headphones through Sagaheim.)
But if you have them powered at the same time you may damage your headphones so be carefull.
You may also feel a little silly that it took you weeks to find out it controls both, so that`s why I put this on here.

According to Wikileaks e-mails...

Jason will announce a multi-bit phono cartridge to go with the SOL turntable once released. This unexpected phono cartridge will actually be named the "<redacted> model 1" and will be the 1st Schiit product to sport a power switch on the front. It will be available only in black and will sport the Moffatt designed Extra Cheesy Crunch Wrap Quesadilla filter.

Simultaneously, Jason will announce a new Loki Max w/ 18 adjustable levels, and a balance control system consisting of discrete pots for left and right volume.** The knobs will be located at the back of the unit to minimize signal path and the inputs and output RCA connectors will be located at the front so folks can show-off their 'blingy yak hair' cables (which will soon be announced by Schiit). It is also reported that Schiit will eliminate the power switch in order to eliminate the potential front vs. back debate often seen in forums, etc.

Wikileaks has also uncovered e-mails discussing an RF remote control based LED adjustment platform that consists of a pair of glasses which can vary the level of color and/or of tint providing much desired attenuation of brightness along with the ability to facilitate virtual LED color changes. This is at an early stage of development and is unlikely to be part of this announcement.

An A**x provided roadmap also shows a Modi-sized aluminum enclosure-based PC with a Mark Moffatt designed OS (Windows compatible) for use with JRiver Media Center. There is also mention of a VU meter in a Fulla sized enclosure with separate L and R units planned at this point in time. According to A**x, these are way down the line, however, with no expected date as of yet.

That's all I can reveal at this point. Of course, things are subject to change.

** That is a total of 20 pots and control knobs per system for the Loki Max, which explains why the lowly Loki Mini remains on backorder due to a world-wide shortage of pots and knobs.

The new Magni 4 which will have this LED https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/lumileds/L150-4070502400000/1416-1966-1-ND/6196412 outputting 580 lumens of 5000K white light to give those Head-Fi folks something to bitch about. Mike Moffat was quoted "They think the LED's are bright now? Muhaahaahaa!"

Thanks all, I'll just stick with bare wire, I only move the amp & speakers once every few years.
I tin my speaker wire with 63-37 solder. Prevents the strands from unravelling and makes it easier to insert in binding posts.

$100 speaker cable vs. coat hangers.

lol!

Of course if they used the $76,800 audioquest speaker cables, the coat hangers would have been trounced.

Never used coat hangers as speaker cables but they make great a antenna....

Why would you want tinned wire?
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.anixter.com/content/dam/Anixter/Wire%20Wisdom/12T0024X00-Anixter-WW-Conductor-Coatings-W&C-EN-US.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwiV_pmM_uTZAhXr6YMKHWDxDE0QwaICCF0wDA&usg=AOvVaw1dDwXhJ_dbP4_niSR3dYHg

The link above says tin has 15% of the electrical conductivity of copper. Says silver has 106% of copper.

Wouldn't reduced conductivity reduce SQ?

"Tinning" is an old term from back in the days when the sweet aroma of solder contained copious amounts of lead and tin. But the modern lead-free alloys used in today's solder have much less tin, and in many cases at this point a better term for coating the tip of a stranded wire might be "silvering".

Reduced conductivity has nothing to do with SQ. It would impact power losses in the wire, generating more heat. And have an impact on damping factor, but the effect of DF is mostly overblown in the audiophile world.

Try Duelund DCA16GA or Duelund DCA12GA wire for speaker wire.

The link provided earlier, (and again below) is for tin plated copper wire. I found a bunch of manufacturers make it for various purposes. Just wondering how useful this stuff would actually be for audio gear.

Thanks, but my electrical knowledge is in its infancy. I have a question below.

Wouldn't power loss in the wire mean the amp has to work harder, or said power loss would cause reduced detail in the signal to come through? If the current/signal pushed into the cable contains information the speaker needs to reproduce sound, wouldn't heat mean a loss of information?
