I'm interested in the Vidar sized Class A amp, that you mentioned ( twice ). Pass is introducing a 25 WPC, class A for $4900, so you have something to shoot for.

We have a lot of different prototypes, so who knows what will come to pass. It'll be determined by feedback from trusted listeners and by impact on production. A Vidar-sized, low-power Class A amp has the advantage of using the same heatsinks and same (basic) chassis as Vidar...and also (I think) uses another big component from another planned product, so it has higher probability on the production side. Still, it's a "it'll happen if it happens."
Super update Jason. They are always entertaining. The Sol with 12" tonearm, at an affordable price, is very tempting. The 25 watt class A amp also gets a vote from me. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

I just want to say, right now i'm using a Dayton Audio DTA-120 hooked up to a Vali 2 to power my bookshelf speakers. (The Vali 2 sometimes also powers my HD800S.) I'm not fond of the DTA-120 and would set it on fire (in a safe place, of course) if Schiit put out a low-power power amp.
Do you mean USB straight out of the Pi? If so that might be the case. But most RP3 users add a HAT from one of three vendors that gives them Coax, I2S or Toslink out and that makes it a very different ballgame. I don't use the USB out on my RP3 and if I did, I might add an EITR even though it costs 3x what the RP3 costs.
Looks like I'll have to wait til then before I get my Freya RMA returned (it's been over a month now). A crackly right channel saw it returned and the replacement board was busted in transit to my local distributor. Life sux sometimes.
On the Freya note, I didn't see mention of 6SN7 LISSTs. Hopefully that one's a side project that gets a prod as well.
Even so, sounds like the Schiit Squad will be plenty busy beavering away. Let's see what new cool thing turns up first. Maybe the 1st 2018 chapter will give us some clue.

Great great chapter. Can't wait for an SOL. I have two humbly offered suggestions.
Call the next Schiitr the Schiit Pit. Give each one a unique name.
Solicit guides from this thread. These guys know your products inside out and I have seen some great spread sheets. With no promises and the proper legalese, of course.
