Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Getting into the range of performance amps. Personally, I think mono blocks are over-rated too. A well designed stereo amp like Vidar has plenty of headroom for a normal listening environment driving moderately efficient speakers. Of course there are big rooms and highly inefficient speakers that might stretch some amps but a single Vidar should fill a lot of space very loudly.

Only with balanced input, though. Maybe he's looking for something in that power range for RCA (which is "only" 100W at 8 ohms with Vidar)
It's also not a mono amp with SE input... it's 100 WPC stereo with SE input into 8-ohms. Give it a balanced input to create a mono amp and 400 watts is on tap (same as 200 WPC stereo into 4-ohms, not surprisingly.)

That's my point. The request was for "a Hardcore Mono 250W-300W and not bridged/dual Mono.", and that's not Vidar (cause it's "dual-mono-ish", as per the website). I interpreted that to mean that he's looking for a mono amp that does 250W-300W into 8 ohms from RCA. If balanced input is an option, Vidar would indeed fit the bill as far as power is concerned, that's true.

Good grief! Loki Mini for $149? Please charge a little more so you make a little more $$ faster to put towards bringing out Loki Maxi absolutely as soon as possible.

I will end up with these little things by the night stand and by the day bed in the den. The form factor is a little tight for 61 year old fingers but I'll survive.

Fantastic! I finally like my Ether C's.

This with Gadget and their yet to be big siblings is making my head spin.

You should knock 'em dead at RMAF!:beerchug::beyersmile:

I have to give you guys a big thumbs up on the new Freya remote.

When I got my Freya in January, I just programmed my Logitech Harmony to the plastic Freya remote and threw it in a drawer because I hated the remote so much.

On the other hand, the new Freya remote just tickles me silly. I love using it. It's sleek, substantial, and elegant all in one. The remote may just be the best part of Freya now.

@Pietro Cozzi Tinin The sound and finesse is great. The power is very disappointing in conjunction with the ESL 63's.
I play at step 120-128 of the 128 steps attenuator of the Freya in JFET mode to get 80 dB.

Not disputing what you are getting, but that doesn't sound right given the ESL-63 are around 85db for 1 watt. Is the input to the Freya a very low level signal?

That is right. Like I said I m not looking to use in bridged/dual Mono mode where technically the Voltages/current added/multiplied to get more power. I m told elsewhere that this will make them (amps) heated up and recommended to avoid.

I like Balanced & RCA. However a real stereo vidar+ built with lots of muscle with minimum 250W. Love if its 300W. I m okay if its built true Mono 300W.
