Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I don't see a Fostex T-series RP Mk III, I don't care how you modify it, sounding better than Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.....

But I do agree that the Mimby/Vali 2 combo is a good one. I liked the German tubes the best. But the Heerlen tubes are great too. I would look at getting a 5670 to 6922 adapter and trying a Western Electric 396A tube!

I'm totally confused. Do I upgrade from Bimby to Gumby or even Yiggy??? Or do I just enjoy my (single ended) system as it is, which is wonderful, and not keep trying to stay up with the in-crowd??? I've got an idea. I'm going to listen to music right now and just ENJOY

Yeah, sorry about the confusion. I agree with you and @Ableza, if you're happy with your system just enjoy your music.

Use your system to listen to the music. Where possible avoid using the music to listen to your system...

An update on the SVS isolation feet: On a quick listening test I noticed some instant improvement in bass quality - boomy sound is almost gone and the bass is tighter now. Also it seems like the mid-range is a bit sweeter...
Will try out the Auralex pad tomorrow and see which one works better.

Suggestion for next old Norse word/concept to use as a product name: Fylgja. My Native American side like this one.

I feel "fortunate" to have read your post, as "fate" would have it, I was thinking if Mike did an end game phono preamp it could be called "Snotra" but "Gram" might be better.

THIS! I would love a tube'd Schiit phono stage! Apparently the Mani is a SS version of Moffat's tube'd phono stage. I think it's high-time for a re-issue. I'd also like to reiterate my desire for a Schiit 2ch tube amp (SET preferred, mono blocks would be nice ... maybe using the KT150). I ended up with a Rogue after all the recommendations and positive comments in this thread. It's nice ... but I'd still prefer something a little more Schiitty.

That looks very, very nice.

"Snotra?" As in Frank?
(and now more humor)
Exactly, the Norse goddess of wisdom's name can do double duty. But then I came across Gram....and that works too.:L3000:

In the meantime, I'll continue to update you on the progress of Vidar, as I know more. And maybe sneak in a chapter or two.

Any updates on Vidar?

Thanks!!

I'm a huge Schiit fan but I'm wondering whether it's close to time to pull the trigger on a power amp
somewhere else .
I realize there can be production and buying along with delivery problems . I also realize that Schiit
wants to get this right . I can recall Jason's comments on how power amps have made or broke
audio companies .
1st quarter 2017 , April....May....June .... now July is here .

My house is loaded with Schiit equipment but I may have to pass on this one shortly .
