Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

A rack for the album cover of a record in play, or if you want to display just one.🤪. I did not like the idea of the sleeve touching just the edge of the patinated copper so I added a softer curve.

Nice! I'll keep an eye on this project, had 4x lp wall display shelves at my last setup that may not work at the new one due to window placement.

I should probably shop for birdseye maple. 🤪

And @sam6550a what’s not to like?😉

The phrase "softer curve" with that album cover is next level, Tom. +10 Internet Points 🤣

I may have been thinking that as I typed it.🙄

Considering your turntable I could use more common wood and do a gloss white and gloss black lacquer in multiple layers. Or gloss white with ebony inlay.

Respectfully, there's no "better." There's only flavors.

And some "flavors" are better than others. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Let me rephrase that for you...

"Respectfully, there's no "better." There's only personal preferences."

More Blue Jeans cables are on their way and are scheduled to arrive today. I'll report.
I also have a bunch of those XLR<->RCA adapters to contribute to the cause. Maybe even in the right gender!

And with that, it's time for margaritas!! :D

That ^ would look fabulous! Any way to make it wall mountable? I've got a perfect square of wall above my 'table.

Lid comes off completely while spinning so it wouldn't get in the way.

Wisconsin an Americanized Finland, eh? I will tell my daughter who is taking Finnish language courses in preparation for a year-long visit for her work. Maybe she should go to Milwauke for a while first...

You must have visited a Bass Pro Shop store. Some of them are so large they contain lakes for actual boat demos.

Congrats on the little one!
Don't go to Memphis then, the BPS there is ginormous! I spent most of a day in there a few years back.

I can do a floating shelf, considering it would be wall mount I would not need the dowels to support the record. Four screws would be used but they would be hidden.

Even though I have no engineering training of any kind, I was able to TOTALLY ELIMINATE ALL all turntable-related resonances and vibration effects from my audio system and listening area.

I merely simplified the system by eliminating the turntable. (And its baggage train of finicky/delicate/time-sucking supporting stuff.). Working very well so far. Related audio nervosa and stress are below measurable levels. Disclaimer: this technique may or may not also work for other people.
This is exactly what I did. It make listening life so much easier and stress free now. (I have about a dozen albums that I need to digitize yet.)

That's fascinating! What did you work on for Ray Kurzweil? I looked him up and he is now 77 and a principal researcher at Google.
I worked at Kuzweil AI, his project after the Text-To-Speech products that Stevie Wonder used, doing speech-to-text. Across the hall was Kurzweil Music Systems, where they made the first keyboard that sounded like a grand piano -- it used sampling and had a revolutionary keyboard action using fiber optics. Sadly, I wasn't much into music then (and less so artists) so the parade of rock&roll stars visiting was beneath my notice. I do recall all the assistants being all excited because so-and-so and them-and-so were coming to hear the keyboard at KMS.
Question…

If I use one of my AudioQuest USB cables for my label printer, does it sound better?
I'm amazed no one has pointed out that the color fidelity of your label printer will clearly improve from its non-AQ cable usage of 66% REC2020 to an amazing 80% of REC2020 color gamut. And the little jaggies on the letters will improve from 0.1 pixels to 0.001 pixels!

Better color tone and better precision! What's not to like?

Or are you only concerned with how much noise it makes? Doesn't help much there.
Nice! I could use GE’s and Fotons with some Philips ECG’s thrown in.🤪

This is turntable related, it should be obvious.😉

What is it?
I'm thinking an underwater device so that one can listen to turntables while snorkeling? Did I win?
For some reason I had been thinking steam punk submarine
Great minds! Or, maybe not...

...
See, I knew someone would comment. Is there any other way to describe what I meant?

@sixergixer your plinth looks like it's made of Corian. It's just painted?

Didn’t like it. Print had too much plankton.
