No hum here either - despite lots of tech on the desk near the BF2... Each audio component does have its own outlet - not sure if that helps

Sorry if this has been answered before but I have a Burson Conductor and the manual states that an XLR to RCA cable is not recommended cause of the way that particular DAC is built. Is this the case with the Bifrost 2/64 as well or have others had success just using a cable rather than needing a conversion box?
If I buy and install the 2/64 card what do I do with the old card? Seems a waste to throw it away but I would have no need for it.
When you get bored of the 2/64 sound put back the old one ?If I buy and install the 2/64 card what do I do with the old card? Seems a waste to throw it away but I would have no need for it.
I’ve been kind of wondering the same , but I may swap back to the old card at some point just to mess around with synergies.

Don't discount the fact that there are NEW 2/64 owners that would buy the OG board to see if they would prefer it.If I buy and install the 2/64 card what do I do with the old card? Seems a waste to throw it away but I would have no need for it.

I kept mine, and a year later swapped back and sold my 2/64 card...

Yeah that's true. Somehow I didn't think of that.

What was the reason for swapping back?

Yeah. I went from OG to 2/64 and then swapped back to OG card...
and then swapped back to 2/64 card. That's where I stayed.
New card sounds better (to me). **
** It's all about synergy and personal preferences.

I’m so cheap that I thought I’d wait until my 5-year warranty is about to expire before getting the 2/64 card and extending the warranty another 2 years. Looks like I’ll take the plunge in February 2026!
To be honest, I will probably have a Yggy long before I buy a 2/64 card. I’ve been very satisfied with the OG BF2 in my chain for the past couple of years, so I hate to mess with a good thing.

Played better with my ears on upper registers. Tbf I have tinnitus and like warmth (this is with my Folkvangr/Atrium setup)Yeah that's true. Somehow I didn't think of that.

Too bad both the OG and 2/64 can exist together

I can only see the OG board being more valuable down the road when Schiit transitions all their Multibit DACs away from Analog Devices. Jason mentioned in the Syn livestream that they now have issues making more Yggy OGs due to availability of the AD DAC chips. I have a feeling that it will suffer the same fate like the Gungnir did.
Well clearly, the fulfillment/supply issues WRT the BF2/64 are currently non-existent. I placed an order for a silver one early yesterday morning, received tracking number (which only showed label had been printed) by mid-afternoon, and USPS tracking now shows they have it and expected delivery is Monday!
As recently as only ~6 months ago, I would've laughed at anyone suggesting I'd be spending any money at all on desktop/non-portable gear, but life moves and changes fast, hahahaha. Looking forward to pairing this with the Jot2 I bought in late March, purely for headphone/IEM use.

Bifrost 2/64 is currently anchoring a chain that features Feliks Echo II as preamp, Vio V280 head amp, topped off by Focal Clear. "Sweet", "Warm", "Textured" are words that feel most appropriate to describe the sound of this combo.
