Question:
I just got the Schiit Asgard 2. It literally just arrived and I have used it for 3 hours.
Is there a break in period?
I'm concerned also because it is getting hot..burning hot! You literally cannot leave your hand on it. I'm at 3 o'clock on the dial. Also, just sitting there, when its not being used, it gets really hot.... I am also getting a lot of noise..buzzing sound
Meanwhile, I am comparing it to my 10 year old Musical Fidelity X-can v2. Its the stock version.
I have it at 1 o'clock. Its not getting hot, and is playing a lot louder, warmer sounding, better bass and better vocals.
I am not sure how they compare on power output, but here are the specs on the MF:
Musical Fidelity X-CAN v2
By: Musical Fidelity
Description: Tube headphone amplifier Specifications Output power Typically 1W Input impedance 47kOhms THD <0.015% 20Hz-20kHz unweighted <0.005% 20Hz-20kHz 'A' weighted S/N ratio >96dB unweighted ref. full output >108dB 'A' weighted ref. full output Frequency response 30Hz to 75kHz <+/-1.0dB Power requirement 12V AC 500mA (via mains adaptor supplied)
Can someone explain this? Is the MF unit just a more powerful amp?
