SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

The thing is I do not know if it's the drivers that have issues, or is it the female sockets on the headphones that have issues. Testing a different cable and reversing left and right will not reveal a difference between the two potential problems.
I agree with you that wires breaking free at the socket or the driver side is unlikely.
How long has it been an issue? It's more common that solder joint broke in the cable and it still making contact. Broken driver coil would stop as the music is playing.

I'm switching back to the open-back grills and listening that way. The closed cups do sound good with the damping in them, but that setup is even heavier than my LCD-Xs. And honestly, I can prevent sound leakage and get isolation, while still enjoying some of that wonderful planar sound with my S12 IEMs, so let's try these open-back instead.

I've modified the "rock" EQ profile on peace to add a little more bass to these and I love it. I see no real reason to waste time installing the closed cups now.
What's the rock?

I received my Tres last July and I liked them since the very first minutes despite a minimum burn-in seemed required.
I have been listening to a lot of different music and they are excellent at everything.
However, I have to admit that these are really brilliant at Classical music, they really shine with this is genre, especially with Symphonic works. These are actually my choice when it comes to classical music, so balanced, accurate never fatiguing and so much involving :)

Thanks for the review @Alien HP . These look so awesome! I ended up putting an order in with Sasha for the 16 ohm with blue wood. Excited to get these!

FYI, Sasha is trying a new colored grill out for the open configuration. Check it out.....

Ask Sasha....or go to your local plating pro and have them do your existing metal grills.

You could do it yourself if you are brave....There are three parts to this so watch them all.

I've had a chat with Sasha about metal plates and it's 50/50. That's why he is starting out with these wood veneer plates first to see if everyone likes the idea which I think we all would 😊. I believe metal plates though would be a big hit, we'd all get some. Chrome would really make the Tres stand out

Metal parts would increase the weight.
