Hello,
This was the first Head-Fi meeting in Spain and a success
smily_headphones1.gif
. What a great evening we had. It was really nice to meet Marianitu, Picodeloro, Jorgillo and Jltower. Unfotunately, Rodaballo was not able to come (we missed you!).
Yago, the owner of J. Portela Seijo HiFi store was a great host. A gentleman and a friend. He comes from a family of hifi pioneers and it shows.

I have just returned from the mini-meet (and the mini after-party

) and had to set up my system again. I am really tired and will go to bed right now

. I hope I will post some impressions and pictures soon.
And again, please, forgive us if we end talking in spanish. It is very difficult to post spontaneous impressions in a second language, but we will try

Nice to see that European meetings become more frequent!
Hope you had a good time. And please post some impressions, and of course some pictures...

Hi,

I am glad that you had a good time at the Santiago de Compostela meeting.

Unfortunately I had to do some home work... due to the rain.

The poring rain had part of the responsibility of me not attending the meeting.

I am really looking for the pictures.

I hope that the next time there will be no rain and that I could go.

Regards

Here you have more pictures of the event.

I have a really long and busy week at work, but anyway I will try to post some impressions as soon as possible. Being the first time we met, we took the opportunity to know each other and talked a lot. Although the listening conditions were ideal (silent room, few people), we didn't do enough listening (2 hours max). Maybe the next time! Anyway, I had some quality time with the new sure e500 which I enjoyed a lot.

Of course, the after-party was nice too in spite of the horrible weather. We had a few beers, some glasses of good wine and some galician "tapas" for dinner. Marianitu (he is from Barcelona, not galician) could talk about the "orella" (boiled pig ear with paprika). A special treat for headfiers

The weather in Galicia during the meeting (gulp!):

AKG K701 and K601 were provided by Mr. Portela. They seemed to be great, but needed some burn-in.

Free "tapas" with drinks are typical of Santiago de Compostela.

After Carlos' second round of pictures, now I understand why Rodaballo was not able to make it "due to the rain."

A small understatement with flooding and storming of that degree! Hopefully there will be more meets for you to attend.

Thanks for the additional pics Carlos. It really looks like a great time was had by all at the meet/party. The closest I have been to Santiago de Compostela was San Sebastian, which is a beautiful city. I have relatives in southern France (in Pau and right up to a shepherd's cabane near the Spanish border which is called Pierre St. Martin on the French side). We visit there every few years. Someday maybe we can visit Santiago de Compostela and have a meet with you!

Cheers!

Could you guys post that desktop in the iMac? It looks pretty cool.

Congratulations on the first meet in Spain. It's great to see spanish speaking people on the forums. Hopefully someday I will have the pleasure to start an impressions thread titled ''First meet at Panama''

Thank you for sharing those wonderful pictures, hopefully there was little risk involved.

Questions:
How did you get you iMac G5 or iTunes for that matter, to go into the mode featured above? Which version of iTunes do you have?

Which version are those DB 770's?

All-in-all it looks like you guys had a blast; wish that I could have been there. Good food, good wine, and good music, again, thanks for sharing!

iTunes 7 has this option for the view to be like a jukebox. There are three or four settings, including another one that shows the album covers in a list style. I like the jukebox and the screen-saver that is all your album art tiled on the screen with individual covers flipping in a random order.

In three days we had something equivalent to the total of October in our area.

There were places that had 615 litres/square meter since the beginning of the month. The historic mean is around 212.

This is rainiest October since 1958!!!

I missed the meeting I hope to be able to attend next time.

Regards
