Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)

The light from the Dragonfly is in Magenta (i.e. in 96kHz mode) but all of my music are in 44.1kHz, will this be the reason y it turns to static after realizing its in the wrong mode after ~ 20s? How to set the output of poweramp/ note 3 output to strictly 44.1kHz?

Hmm...

Got the Senn IE800 today, makes interesting listening on the Note...

Each volume level introduces a certain level of distortion / static - oddly 13 is the noisiest, and 14 / 15 cut the noise right down - not really sure what is going on there!

Oh, and the stock player sounds not so good compared to Neutron...

Tsk! - the TF10s I was using are obviously nowhere near as fussy, as I never noticed either phenomenon before this :frowning2:

In the Note 3's defence, the IE800s are handled very well when using Neutron - Is incredible what this little combo can do...

Samsung definitely need to up the quality of the stock player though :frowning2:

Loving the Monster Gratitude/Note3/Neutron combo here. Very musical to say the least.

I've had the Note 3 (SM-9005) for a little over a month now, and after not using my iPad 4th generation, I tried to compare them a little. It sounded like the iPad had a wider, more clear soundstage compared to the Note. Kinda disappointing actually, though I know the iPad sound is excellent. The difference was quite a bit.

Which player?

IE80 here and with PowerAmp it is beautifully sounding combination.

I tried both with Spotify and Poweramp. Poweramp with DVC on. Not sure about the quality with it off. I think Poweramp is better sounding than the Spotify app tho.
Does anyone have the problem that when you have DVC on, the volume controls are acting weird? On my phone, when I turn up the volume, it goes down for a split second, adjusts accordingly to the number of button presses.

Blinded and volume-matched test?
