Good it's $360 less (?!) than Topping D90 MQA though?

Not really sure why we should buy the D90 MQA instead of this one, anybody, please enlighten me.

It's a different chip, if that matters to you. The implementation is also different ofc. I'd have to hear the SU-9 to compare. The D90 has better input support, though surely not worth the price difference I need those inputs so no regrets on my D90.

I did hear the D90 MQA and I wasn't as impressed by it's filter implementation honestly, SU-9 had more apparent subtleties when swapping between filters VS D90

D90 also had that some what aggressive dry presentation but on an AKM chip which felt off? Still the Pre-Amp function of D90 was better imo as SU-9 sit at like what 4+V on the XLR? Which isn't ideal as an even 4V is standard is it not

Either way if you didn't need and want the Digital Pre-Amp function I feel SU-9 would be better. But to use AS a digital Pre-Amp D90 would be better imo

Price and performence seems to be really good. But I am not a friend of the current SMSL design. It is almost impossible to pair it with amps from other brands.

Devices from Topping etc. are looking much more "neutral" (which is good I think) and also more sexy from my point of view. But just my 2 cents.

I would use SU-9 as a pure DAC, via optical input only. So you'd say it was more detailed down there in sound the su-9? I guess also i would like the Ess chip, more detailed and less soft. But i guess there will be lot of folks who will tell in next months

Well purely as a DAC using only the line outs at full output, SU-9 is about as D90 tho a bit different. Not as soft as you've said

What Amp is recommended from SMSL to this DAC? Hopefully one that looks good cosmetically with it as well as audio synergy.

Why add Bluetooth to such a Audiophile product. Surely that causes some interference.
