I would like to use lineout, but didnt considered to buy Fiio F5 as an sufficient amp for such DAP .....

Cable that came with Westone 3.
I found that PO->W3 is better sounding when it is(cable) about 60 Ohm .

SFLO:2 -> Ultrasone 2500 Pro : 1/3-2/3 volume is enough for me. And they sound very good combined.

Is it possible to mod the S:flo2 battery, poor battery life is a deal-breaker for me.
Now settling with the fuze LO.

It uses an 2800mAh battery, largest battery of any portable player. Good luck finding a more powerful battery to fit in the sflo:2

Uh huh. It's the fact that the player's powering all of those chips inside of it.

yeah that's why i'm getting it to power my sennheisers so i can listen to my music loud like i want to, another question does the eq settings and fx play in with the battery usage?, cause i've read other posts about the cowon s9 drains more power when the eq and bbe are on?.

The Sflo2 gives you 8-10 hrs of playback regardless of codec you use or EQ settings you use or any other factor. Even though it only delivers 10 hrs that is pretty good for .flac playback.

Yeah i imagine if they just used a normal portable battery this thing would only get 1-2 hours out of a charge.

I agree I'm getting a 8gb sflo 2 with a 16gb microsd which will bin it up to 24 but it retrospect it'll be like 22gbs can 1200 Flac songs fit on this?.

*Checks library*
2211 songs at 29.5 gigs.
Ratio for FLAC/mp320 = not very good :/

I don't think so man.

Probably not you will probably only get around 700 or so songs on 22GB. I'd get 16GB version so you will have 32GB now with a 16GB card and when 32GB micro SD cards come down in price you will have 48GB which will get you well more than 1200 songs in .flac

So the MP4Nation website shows these, and it doesn't say pre-order anymore...does that mean these are available and ready to ship? Or are they already spoken for through pre-orders?

I'm so conflicted as to whether I should go for the iMod + Mini3, or this for use with the IEMs I'm getting...(Fischer DBA-02)...

I was in a similar pickle myself, but the simple economics of the S:flo2 being far cheaper and less hassle to set up fully swayed me.

Don't forget, if you want the iMod to be optimal, your shopping list will be quite long; compatible iPod, iMod, cables, amp, vCaps and probably a battery/HDD upgrade if you plan on adding a lot of FLAC. I think for me this came to 4-5 times as expensive as the S:flo2, takes up a much bigger footprint, and in terms of sound-quality, reviews like the Headfonia comparison still put the pure sound-quality of the S:flo2 above the iMod. For my budget it was easily the more sensible choice.

You could also get a Hifiman 801 for less than you'd pay for a fully fleshed out iMod, it'd have a smaller footprint and by the all the accounts I've seen sound much better. I think in 2010, the iMod is the best option if you want a single massive HDD, polished interface and decent battery life, with good sound quality... but if SQ is your primary concern and you don't mind swapping micro SD cards, or songs via software and can live with a more amateur UI and nightly charges, then there's better options out there. IMO of course.
