RSA Raptor just arrived & looking for suggestions on tube rolling, particularly for good synergy with the AT-W5000. Already have a good idea from what Elephas posted in my previous query but would like any input from head-fi'ers with experience on this setup. Will also be purchasing other headphones in the near future so any other general input on tube rolling for the Raptor would also be appreciated.

To date I am using a pair of Tung Sols in the driver positions, with the stock RCA as gain. But to be honest, I had chosen them for the 650s. I need to try my combinations again now that the W5000 is burned in.

I've been using RCA 5687 in the output and an RCA Cleartop 12AU7 in the driver position. I also like an RCA 12BH7 in the driver position. The only headphone I use is the HD-650.

I'm going to second this combination, it sounds truly lovely, excellent clarity and a beautiful midrange when combined with the HD-650.

I also really like the new RCA 5687s I've received in the driver position.

Of all the tubes I've tried, I've always preferred them with the RCA 12AU7 as the gain tube, only the Mullard really comes close.
