So, I upgraded to Soekris DAC, and now I'm selling the following to fill my empty wallet, for the next month's rent
. PM me if you are interested in any of these
1. SMSL M8
2. Geekout V2+
3. Shure SE535 RED
4. TRN Blueetooth Cable (4.1, Aptx -> 2 Pin version)
About the Soekris:
Initial impressions are very very promising. They are on a different level compared to Mimby or M8.
Sound from these are very airy with a spacious soundstage, and unlike what some of the reviews indicated, the bass is more fleshed out, compared to other DACs I've tried. Overall tonality is neutral, but coming from M8, it sounds a bit warm. Anyways, happy with the purchase so far.
These are Soekris DAM-1021 -12 board with diyhink xmos USB receiver and a shunt regulated PSU. This, along with the Sapphire V4 (again, another DIY, a neutral take on TOTL SS Amps, ), probably means that I'm set in terms of DAC-AMP.
However, I am thinking of upgrading the firmware of the DAC, and trying the filters. Anyone else, who has Soekris here? What has been your experience with the filters?
