Thanks for the heads up Suman.

I dont have a system for it, i guess i will start with vali sometime down the line.

I will post some comparisons with akg k550 if its worth it to go mid-high end, if anyone interested.

 So got that?

@sandman1990 : Need some help Sandman;
I'm looking at the Sony PHA-1 mainly for use as an amp from my FiiO X3 line out, and apart from its obvious feature set, do you think it would be a clear step up from FiiO E12 A as a stand alone amp?

Since the online price is currently about 250 USD, I'm thinking of giving it a go. Would appreciate any better performing amp suggestions around this price point as well.

Thanks & Cheers

I have never listened to the PHA-1 so can't say if its better than the E12A. IMO the X3 + E12A makes for a nice pairing. For me, its a big step up from the internal amp and also to some extent the original E12.
Dunno if they are any better but the Cayin C5 and JDS Labs C5 are other considerable options within the price range.

Thanks for your inputs.
When you say E12A is a good step up from X3's internal amp, can I assume it improves on sound quality, with regards to space, details, clarity etc?

Not much with regards to space as the X3 already lacks width but certainly brings out the details better. While the bass quantity slightly dips, the quality improves. The midrange and treble sound more refined and clear.

got Sennheiser HD700.

very neutral and natural sound.

detailed like akg k550 but natural sounding like sennheisers do.

also very refined. dynamics and layering are very fine and well done.

very easy to drive. sounds great even out of my cellphone.

Lol, hype for sure. However, they are the ones I did enjoy the most.

 That can be the better scenario, i enjoy Ue600 the most, every time i put them inside my ears, i fall in love with them, all over again.
