Walkman, yes. Owned a crappy B series before, and listened to the old A series. Old A845 was good. Been a long time, don't remember the SQ good enough to compare though. IEMs, only XBA 3 briefly. Why do you ask?

because I had e-474 walkman and I still preferred the sound of clip+,though eq was good.

Sony a 845 was flawed with impedance of 8-10 as a result unsuitable for many iem's case in point xba-3.

Point is sony makes over priced products .

But this product has me interested due to

1)much superior ui
2)goodies like bluetooth,nfc,50 hr battery life
3)sleek
4)micro sd
5)relatively cheap considering its sony

But it lacks a dedicated powerful amp like x1 and I doubt it would sound as good but even if it comes near I will prefer it over x1

Agree completely, though I don't use IEM's that much, spare for the VSD1S. But anyways I'm hoping to get a better quality amp for multiple use after I get the player, whichever I choose that is. Funny thing is that my Cowon C2 seems to be able to drive my HD558 to very high volume levels through its headphone out; unfortunately the SQ isn't crystal clear, even with highly tweaked EQ's. Ah...problems, problems..

I think u should get x1,,,,cowon players have awesome eq but the dac/amp combo of x1 seems better to me.
Or wait for a17 review to decide but mind u even a15 costs 200$
