A related question: Have you guys compared between using a preamp and going straight from Wavelight to the amp and using its volume control? Is it worth using double duty as a preamp against say a $2-$5K preamp?
I personally prefer the Freya S in passive mode over the Wavelight's built-in volume control.
The app - while very intuitive and easy to use - requires to wake up the phone and open the app, which is a lot slower than just reaching for a remote and changing volume.
Also, I do feel the Freya S sounds better. Not by a mile, though.
This thread is pretty quiet..
Any more user reviews? I'm supposed to get mine in about 1-2 weeks and am quite excited. But recently had a conversation with someone who managed to have a listen to it and he said it didn't sound as good as the Holo Spring 2. So I guess I'm excited, and a little bit concerned as well..

They'll be two different sounds for sure. I personally found the Holo 2 sluggish but I'm not a big warm tube guy either (can last about 3 days then I wonder where my transients have gone). I'd expect it to sound more similar to a Yggy but a bit stronger across the board.
Same was using Spring 2 KTE (level 3). Like i said in this thread still a good DAC but DAC's are definitely a matter of preference. I prefer to get my warmth downstream. I like my digital to have strong, firm bass, great imaging and staging, and transient fidelity. Holo didn't tick the boxes for myself. I know the person who bought it from me loves it so .. different strokes for different folks.
Really nice build quality! Just started playing music and it already sounds very natural and yet detailed too. If it sounds this good out of the box, I can't wait for it to be fully broken in.
Leter from Singxer replied on the SU-6 thread and mentioned dipswitch 3 and 7 On. Pairs perfectly.
Tried the Rockna android app and it works flawlessly. One minor gripe is the display brightness; at the lowest setting, it is as bright as the Holo dac brightest setting. Wish it could go much much lower.

Rockna replied my email re: su-6 dipswitch settings.
"Hi,
Here is the configuration that works with our devices:
SW1-4 - 0(OFF)
SW5 - ON
SW6 - any position
SW7 - test L/R channels on DSD to find out the right position
SW8 - 0(OFF)
SW9 - 0(OFF)
SW10 - 0(OFF)
Kind regards,
Andrei
Rockna Audio."
I tried both 3 and 7 ON as well as 5 and 7 ON and both work.
*edit again. Leter says switch 5 is for BNC output only and does not affect i2s. So I will stick to switches 3 and 7.
