If you've experienced depression, you know it can turn the most mundane routines into a life-and-death ordeal (especially if you have an obsessive-compulsive bent as well). These comics are making a salient observation, and I don't think the author intends to insult. Please don't take it personal.

molly is concerned when she pulls the toast from beef's mouth, he'll fall forward. this is love, unconditional.

you mean is the comic made for depressed people? i don't think so. on the site there are thousands of achewood comics, about eerything you could think of.

ok, i'll stop pushing achewood on you all, and let you get back to your calvins and hobbes and garfield.

Yeah Calvin and Hobbes is much better

chris onstad (writes and draws achewood) said in an interview with the yale observer that he considers bill watterson (c&h) to be a modern dickens. i think he agrees with you.

yeah, nice pete just kills me. "do you think it is bad for a man to give another man kisses? or do you think it is ok, pat?" did you remember to read the alt-text?

you'll like this one: ray convinces roast beef to do a science show on tv, but with a really offensive mexican accent (read beef's lines in the voice of speedy gonzolez for the full effect).

Haha that one's pretty good, even though it isn't original Bill Waterson...

My sister and I are saving our pocket change for the Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. $80 is a lot to save for with pocket change

it was an idea for the last c&h. the other idea was calvin goes to bed with hobbes, wakes up the next moring to a snow day, but can't wake calvin up (he stays a stuffed tiger). calvin weeps bitterly for his lost childhood. the end.

Thanks to the common cold and a laptop, I've been able to get through quite a bit of Achewood last night and this morning (starting from the beginning, I'm up to late 2004). So here's one link, perfect for Head-Fi (read the clarification): http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=10222004

And where's the love for Marmaduke? Seriously, it's the only comic I've ever seen that is consistently not funny. I love it.

awesome! i forgot about ray's audiophile letter.

sorry you have a cold hc, but i'm a bit jealous you are experiencing achewood for the fist time. however, sometimes going back and reading again makes it funnier, especially as you get to know the personalities.

don't forget to read the blogs (every character in achewood has a blog): koren bbq lunch (in which ray indulges in his love of "exotic meats")
