Hi jerick70,

Great you are enjoying the RME PRO very much!

Its output is very clean ( re. SNR), dynamic , fast, detailled so that I think that Focal TOTL headphones, ( Clear, Elear, Utopia) may get the most out of it, to take advantage of these possibilities of the RME.
Focal may work. Focals have been a bit to bright for me in the past.

I need to buy an ADI-2-Pro to take for someone overseas. Stuff is much more expensive there so they want me to bring it. So a question for you folks. I saw Thomann is out of stock on the Pro. Any recommendations on places in the US to buy these at a good price ?

I received the Pro today. I'm very impressed. The sound signature is not what I expected. Very smooth and warmish. The detail is unreal. I have to get a pair of headphones that does it justice now. What headphone are everyone using? I'm not a big fan of the HD800. I have LCD-2s and 3s and a pair of Aeons. The Aeons sound best with the onboard amp.

The other pro kit I've tried in the past was so bright I wanted to dig my eyes out. The RME is so different. Very enjoyable to listen to for hours. I listened all day at work.

The Sony Z1R sounds fantastic with the RME ADI-2 DAC. The slightly darker tonal balance is a perfect complement for the neutral RME. With a little bit of eq, it sounds superb. I can't recommend this combo highly enough.

They're not small headphones but they're extremely comfortable and light ! The focal clear feels like a brick after wearing the Z1R. Although I love the clears, i felt it didnt pair that well with the ADI-2. But with my Holo Sprint Kitsune L3 and Headamp GS-X mk2 it sounds sublime.
