Thanks. Great post.
I really like the DQ6. Think I'll order a second pair and have a play with them.

No problem. Happy to help.

This mod is fully reversible though, you shouldnt need to buy another DQ6 to play with it.

Thanks, I do tend to have a habit of things not going to plan and becoming irreversible!

You only need to put the foam in the tips, if you don't like it, just remove it lol.

Just a post on what I plan to do.

Review for the K´s Samsara K300 will probably be done in a week when all my exams are over.
Then I might review the sources I currently got after, since I also have the Hidizs DH80S (review unit) on the way.
My XINHS custom cables might arrive in 1-2 weeks.
Kbear Neon (review unit) might popup somewhere here, and if so I will work on the review for it. If not, I might get to the K´s Bell-WE (bass version).
After these, the Smabat Super One and the M2S Pro might show up, if so I will probably start with the M2S Pro and then the Super One.
Then the last package, the GS Audio GD3A and the GD11 will be reviewed, probably the GD3A first, then the GD11.
Lastly I should finally have time to work on my Sony EX1000 review thats been pushed down the priority queue a lot.

Dang I would have gotten it if not for the non detachable cable!
A shame indeed. Well, hopefully the smabat super one is better, that one does have an mmcx connector.
(also more than twice the price so it better be better lol.)

2021-06-05: Ibasso DX160 review is up: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/ibasso-dx160.23977/reviews#review-26008

With this, I will also mention that I will not use the DX160 as my review source and the Schiit Asgard 3 will take over. This is mainly because I sometimes run into transducers that dont have replaceable cables (stuck on 3.5mm) so when I need to compare them to others that are using the 4.4mm port instead, it is another factor of inconsistency and also not exactly fair since the 4.4mm is a lot better than the 3.5mm

With the Asgard 3, everything will be using its 6.35mm output and I just need to convert the 3.5/2.5/4.4mm jacks into the 6.35mm jack. Which is done by using these adapters:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000570564015.html
So it will be more fair and more consistent. And the Asgard 3 is a more neutral amp and doesnt color the sound as much as the DX160 so it is also better that way.

0.o bright neutral? I always thought mine was warm sounding lol. Running from an apple dongle for my speakers. I am able to use it for sensitive iems if i use a dongle with a hardware volume button to lower volume so the knob can be adjusted more freely.

Yes, there are ways to go around that issue. Like using the ifi iematch, impedance adapters or just lowering the volume using the software controller if you have it on a PC.

2021-06-06: Well, after going through my entire bud collection. Here are the update ranks:

Moondrop Nameless: C+ to B-

NiceHCK B40: B- to B

NiceHCK Traceless: B+ to B

FAAEAL Snow lotus 2.5mm: A- to B+

Toneking Dendroaspis Virids: S- to A+

Biggest discovery to me though. Is the the Faaeal Iris CE is very similar to the NiceHCK ME80. So if you wanted to get the ME80 but cant since it is discontinued now, you can try the Iris CE instead. The ME80 is still better in technicalities, but tonality wise they are very similar and the Iris CE is the better value since it is around 3x cheaper.

2021-06-07: My cables finally arrived!

Looks like they got a new case with their logo on.

Cable A24, looks and feels like cable A6 but is almost half the price. Unfortunately it does not measure as good being at 0.27 ohms but still recommended due to the low price and high build quality.

Sure looks similar right? A24 is only a bit more silverish, while A6 is whiter. (A6 on top and A24 on bottom.)

Well, do I have to say something? I am sure that the pictures already made you take out your wallet. :joy:
But to help you with that, this costed me 20 usd and it measures at 0.13ohms. So yes, it looks like cable A1 has been beaten.
This is Cable A25, a custom cable with 2 gold/copper wires + 1 sterling silver (pure silver) so its a 6 core cable.

Another version of cable A25, but with 1 gold/copper wire + 2 sterling silver wires. Unfortunately this measures quite a lot worse than the other version. Being at 0.37ohms instead. Which means this isnt a A series, instead it joins the B series as cable B8

Neither the A25 or the B8 have been listed for sale. But I will tell him that he should list cable A25, its an epic cable for sure.

Cable is basically tailor made for the Neon, very lightweight and has good build quality. Although the chin slider doesnt work and I was not able to get a read on the resistance due to the recessed pins.

Resin build and is very lightweight as well. There is pressure build up due to it having no vents, but it is a lot better than most BA iems, most likely thanks to the bullet shape/size.

As for sound, well. It doesnt offend me and seems well tuned. Thats it for my teaser. But here are some graphs.

Yeah...not very good channel matching which along with the missing tips in my unit doesnt give me much confidence in their QC....

Since I wasnt able to measure the stock cable, I tried seeing if there was any FR changes in using a low resistance cable (A3) and well. Basically no changes. Which is very impressive so I do believe most people wont have to worry about it being source picky due to OI.
