2020-08-20: Periodic Audio BE review is up: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/periodic-audio-beryllium-be.22397/reviews#item-review-24164

Grade: D

It is a damn rip-off with this sound at this price. If it truly is a pure BE DD driver, then they took gold and turned it into crap.

(Tried EQ too, but it didnt help or quality dropped like a stone.)

Time to enjoy my EX800ST after that garbage.
Fortunately EQ helps the EX800ST a lot (peaky 5-6k area).

Thanks for the review! I know it is reputed to be one of the cheapest pure beryllium DD sets (not counting stuff like Urbanfun, Fiio FD1, Jade Audio EA1 and Moondrop SSR that have beryllium plated DD), but I gave the Periodic BE a miss specifically cause of the non detachable cables. But if it doesn't sound good too, then that just seals the deal.

Hey, I would be interested in your take on the ThieAudio Legacy 3. I find them quite enjoyable and at a reasonable price.

I notice you like LZ. I bet we are both hoping the A7 comes out well.

I did have the Ibasso 00 briefly. I thought it was way too bass and midrange heavy and found the L3 and even the Blon 03 to be preferable (using 4.4 balanced cables but no mods).

Unfortunately I am not interested in getting the L3 (especially after getting the fiio fh3).

Yeah my hype and expectations for the A7 are enormous.

I am getting my replacement it00 soon and will probably review it.

Sony MDR-EX800ST review is up: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/sony-mdr-ex800st.15096/reviews#item-review-24176

Grade A

NR 2 biggest soundstage I have heard, LZ A6 beats it but very impressive for a single DD and especially for something that is already 8 years old!

I can definitely see why this is considered a very good single DD iem. Cant believe how good it sounds for such an old iem. I was using the sennheiser cx 300 ii, Klipsch S4i and the Xiaomi piston 2 back then :joy:

For this next sale I am quite likely to pick up the Tanchjim Oxygen....

Size does matter :smirk:

Whats funny is that you can literally take your fingers and cover the vent to experience the tape mod. :joy:
(did that on accident and shocked me lol)

I am using EQ lol.

and I did try to increase the bass more but if I increased it more than I already did, quality started to drop and I dont want that.
