Just backed home and tried WASAPI. What a surprise! it works straight away. I'll stick with WASAPI for the time being.

Good stuff. Used ASIO for a long time myself but it sometimes acted up. WASAPI, rock solid. No reason to not use it on Windows 7.

Seems like the D200 is more of an upgrade than a direct replacement for the D100, as it costs a couple hundred bucks more.

Interesting they went with a non-perforated cover on the D200. I guess it doesn't have the overheating issues the D100s did.

Depends on your perspective. Obsolete as in no firmware updates will ever be released, and a newer model available? Yes. Obsolete as in no longer a capable device? No. It won't go above 24/96 via USB which is somewhat limiting, other than that it's a fairly modern device.

Do these devices have buttons to switch between RCA output and front headphone output or does connecting headphones silences the RCA output?

Not sure if there really is a "norm", everyone does it different. Some are like the D100, others have a sensor so line-out gets muted when headphones are plugged in, and others have buttons/switches to select which is active.
