Review tour of Smart Hi-Res Music Player FiiO X7 Mark II is on Now

First review of the X7 Mark II to my knowledge up on THL and EverydayListening! I know a lot were honestly a bit disappointed with the X5 III but I would argue that the X5 III was never intended for greatness, it was a midrange device designed with a budget in mind rather than peak performance so to speak. The X7 Mark II is priced like a flagship device but has the performance and attention to detail to back it up, the X7 II represents Fiio on full steam. There are far more differences than basic specs would suggest, the X7 II is way faster than the X5 III and the screen is much improved. The transparency and balance of the X7 MKII really blows me away though I have always had an affinity towards Saber sources. I don't think the X7 II is the best source you can get around this price but it's easily one of the best all in one DAPs and if you found previous Fiio devices too digital sounding or perhaps too smoothed off, the X7 II will surprise you. See the full review for an in-depth look at the Fiio X7 II's updated hardware and software in addition to some comparison to the Chord Mojo, iFi Black Label and Fiio's own X5 III and the original X7.

*Also be sure to note the implementation of the ESS9029Pro vs the Q2M.

Whoever ships to Switzerland. Please state for customs that it is a present and for testing purposes only. Else it will cost me around 100$ in customs. Thank you very much!

@csglinux great review. Can't wait to test X7 II myself

That works in there? In Romania, you pay regardless whether you declare it as a present / testing sample, the only solution is to declare the value really low

I don't know honestly. But if you declare it too low and it gets lost?

@FiiO how to deal with customs for the X7 II test device without having to pay a lot of money?

Thanks for your advice.

That is something dependent on each country actually, this is why I was asking.

since I receive tons of things, I know what works and what doesn't. declaring something as a test unit does not work in Romania, they only care about the declared value.

I have The Australian Tour Unit now.

I've been using them since i got them 4 hours ago, and i have to say that this sounds very good, I will try more headphones soon.

1 minor annoyance is that the folder mode change the ordering of my files, I listen to music by album, ie. album A (beginning to finish), then album B (beginning to finish), then album C, and so on.
looks like they always sort by character, if someone know how to turn off the auto sorting in folder mode, please tell me. Thx.

other than that all seems good.
