A review of this caliber, perhaps they will let you review other cans in their collection? You have my vote.

I can only hope!

TBH, I'll happily review whatever Eric wants to send me, regardless of what it is.

Nothing stops me from being honest (as you can tell) so I can't promise that I'll like it.  But why wouldn't I - or any of us for that matter - not want to give a unit a thorough evaluation right?

HD900 or whatever HD audiophile series *cough cough* for me as well please *cough cough*

HD900?  Oh see, now I'm getting that feelin' deep in my loins.  From the sound of that hernia exam you're gettin' there, seems you're feelin' something too.

I'm more looking forward to the HD598 successor myself. Only problem, they've worked their way into a corner as far as the numbers go, haha.

Quote:
Yeah they have really gone into corner

598
600
650
700
800

So what? 675? 698? 750? 850? 699

I'm more referring to the HD598 since it can't go into the 6 range due to the HD600 and HD650 occupying that territory. HD558 still has plenty of numbers before it hits HD595, same with the HD518 before it hits HD55. But the only thing the HD598 can pull off is a HD599, unless they start tacking letters on like a HD598X or something. Perhaps that series will cease to exist, or be reborn into another series, sorta like the D2000 (de)volving into the D600. Only time can tell.

LOL, that has NEVER stopped Sennheiser before.  HD 598-1-II-SP Sumperior comin' atcha!
biggrin.gif
And assuming I can get one, I will be bringing you full coverage!

Sorry, I'll stop derailing the thread. At least this served as a bump for an awesome review!

No, really, derail and bump away!  You have my full permission and blessing!

Yeah that will be a full production version of that HD800 + HD650 abomination. Quad Drivers. head gear, neck brace, big glasses to hide your face, and a bandanna.

the hd580 did go from the 500 territory into 600 territory. so... maybe a hd598 maaaaay become a hd605. i dunnu just saying :p hd595 -> hd598 -> ......hd603/hd605?

I gave up trying to figure out the naming/numbering scheme long ago.  Resorted to looking at street prices as being more meaningful.  But yeah, you're probably right on that one.

EDIT:  I actually heard IPodPJ's stacked 800/650 at the L.A. Meet this past weekend.  FWIW, he was totally right.  I'd do it myself if it didn't involve a hideous expenditure of funds.

Oh bro, you don't know the half of it.  They'll simply re-launch this as well.

ROFL, I honestly don't know!  But WiR3D asked for "quad drivers, head gear, neck brace" and stuff.  Who am I to disappoint a headphoneus supremus?

I just check it out on Amazon and it seems to be a "Best Of". Was that the one you meant?

Yup, that's the one!  http://www.amazon.com/Gentle-Sounds-Best-Railway-Children/dp/B0000CC7HQ  Though it's not really a "best of" in the traditional sense.  They basically took all of their most popular songs and went MTV Unplugged on them.

Sample before you buy if you can.  They're very different recordings, and not all Railway Children fans love them this way.

Oh, I probably need this then. Thank you for clarifying.

I'm almost convinced that 1986-1991 were five (or six) of the best years ever for pop music.

I wholeheartedly agree.  Those years just happened to encompass my high school years - which for many of us is a time of profound musical discovery.

BritPop evolved and flourished into a rich and varied sub-genre then.  Towards the end of that period, even a few American Alternative bands started to receive some mainstream attention as they rose up out of the obscurity that was college radio.  In fact, now that I think about it, for a long time I was pretty pissed off that Grunge came along and changed the entire landscape.

  Oh well, times change.

LOL, one of my favorite songs just popped up through a playlist shuffle... All I Want  by Toad the Wet Sprocket.  I think that part of the reason why I like this song so much is that it falls right within my vocal range.  Lemme tell ya, this song + me + a shower, I sound LIKE A LEGEND!

It looks like they caught him watching some kind of illegal pornography and he wasn't sure if he exited the window in time.

TTWS...another great band. Do note (if you haven't already) that there are two mixes of All I Want...the one on the original fear album and the other mix is on the best of collection PS A Toad Retrospective.

Pretty much like I stepped out of said shower.  Reality hits pretty hard.

Yup, though I just found out about the Retrospective version a few months ago.  I'll always be partial to the Fear version (mainly due to emotional and sentimental reasons), but I gotta say that the Retrospective version is quite good in it's own right.  Same goes for both versions of Good Intentions while we're on the subject.

Hi. Love the hd215: good build, good seal, very nice coiled cable and honest sound. quality bass instead of quantity.

Will a headphone amp such as FiiO E11 benefit the hd215? I've an E5 + L3 used with ipod touch 4g, but there's not much improvement apart from increased volume ability. Imho, overall it actually sounds better when used direct from the ipod.

So, i just wonder if e11 can perform better.
